NFL Super Bowl Betting Update: Most Important Changes in the Odds

If NFL Week 5 proved anything, it’s that you never know until you know. What we mean by that is teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, and New England Patriots, hot preseason Super Bowl favorites, have underperformed while squads like the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals have dominated. Because most of us are confused after the first five weeks, we thought it a good idea to reassess preseason Super Bowl odds and how those odds have shifted.

Buffalo has fallen to +550 after opening at +1200

The Buffalo Bills are the hottest team in the NFL. Based on how the Bills thoroughly dismantled the Kansas City Chiefs in their inspiring 38-20 victory, it makes sense why Buffalo fell from +800 odds to +550 odds in a few days.

The real fall is much deeper, though. The Bills began the season a +1200 choice to win Super Bowl 56. Now, Josh Allen and his mates are at +550.

Is Buffalo worth a look at the +550 odds? For sure, they are. Kansas City remains a +450 choice on MyBookie. If KC is +450, the Bills should be +350.

Because Buffalo ranks first in points scored per game and points allowed each contest, +550 makes them an overlay. Jump on Buffalo at the odds if you believe.

Arizona Cardinals the wise guy choice

The Cards began the season a +4000 option to win the 2022 Super Bowl. After five weeks, AZ is the only undefeated team in the league.

Arizona is winning with both an unbelievable offense and lockdown defense. Teams like Zona eventually lose games, but they maintain a high-level of play throughout the regular season and into the playoffs.

The Cardinals can win the Super Bowl. So the fact they’re at +1200, a tick above the +1100 Cleveland Browns, should exhilarate Lombardi Trophy future bettors.

Cowboys and Chargers are overlays

The Cowboys started the season at +2500. Dallas is down to +1400. At 14-to-1, the Cowboys are a massive overlay.

Dallas should be no worse than a +1000 choice. Why? The Boys should have upset Tampa Bay on the moneyline in their first game of the season. Not only that, but the defense has gelled and the rushing game has gotten going.

If the Bucs played the Boys in NFL Week 6, oddsmakers would be hard-pressed not to make Dallas the chalk.

The Los Angeles Chargers might be the second best team in the league. Save for a loss to Dallas, the Bolts have played close to perfect football.

What makes the Chargers so good is they are flexible in how they win games. LAC can lean on their defense, rush the football, or unleash Justin Herbert like they did when scoring 26 points in the fourth quarter to beat the Browns 47-42.

The Bolts began the season a +3000 Super Bowl choice. They’re down to +1600. Because the Chargers are one of the top three teams in the NFL right now, Buffalo and the Cowboys are also in the top three, +1600 is a gift.

Jump on the Boys or the Bolts if you want decent odds on a true Super Bowl contender. Shun the Buccaneers, Packers, Chiefs, or any other team not named Buffalo offering low odds.
