2021 NFL Regular Season – Week 17 Odds Analysis & Picks

NFL Week 17

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2 – Monday, Jan. 3

Jacksonville Jaguars vs New England Patriots -15 ½

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

The Patriots figure to beat the Jaguars by at least 20. New England requires a get well game after 2 straight losses to the Colts and Bills. Bill Belichick will use this matchup to get his squad back to playing Patriots football.

NFL Week 17 Pick: New England Patriots

Philadelphia Eagles -3 ½  vs Washington Football Team

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

The Washington embarrassed themselves in the loss to the rival Cowboys in Week 16. The bigger embarrassment was the sideline brawl between teammates. The WFT, again, is a mess while the Eagles are surging. Philadelphia rolls.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Eagles

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -13 vs New York Jets

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

Even with injuries to Chris Godwin, Leonard Fournette, and Shaquil Barrett, Tom Brady and his teammates have enough on both sides of the ball to cover this spread. The Jets won’t have much success on defense stopping the Buccaneers while the offense won’t have any success against Tampa’s D.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Miami Dolphins vs Tennessee Titans -3 ½

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

Miami searches for their eight straight victory while the Titans hope to lock down the AFC South. The problem Tennessee has in this game is stopping Jaylen Waddle. Offensive coordinator George Godsey is a master at placing Waddle in positions where he can excel. This is a bad matchup for the Titans at this point in the season. Fins moneyline is a real possibility.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Miami Dolphins

Las Vegas Raiders vs Indianapolis Colts -6 ½

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

Even with Sam Ehlinger at quarterback, which probably won’t happen since Carson Wentz may have to sit out just 5 days, but even if it does, Jonathan Taylor and Indy’s defense should lead the Colts to a win and cover.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Indianapolis Colts

Kansas City Chiefs -5 vs Cincinnati Bengals

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

Home field should mean something in this game. Not only that, but the Cincinnati Bengals are surging into the playoffs. A 15-10 defensive victory against the Broncos and a 41-21 beating they handed to the Ravens prove it. Bengals ML is the play.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Cincinnati Bengals

New York Giants vs Chicago Bears -6

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

The Giants have given up on the season. The Bears, actually, haven’t. Nick Foles is likely to start. We saw what he did agianst the Seahawks. So Bears cover.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Chicago Bears

Atlanta Falcons vs Buffalo Bills -14 ½

The Bills are rolling. Atlanta isn’t a terrible team, though. Not only that, but Buffalo often plays down to their competition after a big victory. Who can’t forget the 9-6 loss to the Jaguars? Falcons cover.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Atlanta Falcons

Houston Texans vs San Francisco 49ers -12 ½

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

There’s a good chance Trey Lance plays instead of Jimmy Garoppolo. Lance has looked decent in limited action. The Niners face a team coming off their biggest win of the season. That works in SF’s favor. But, wow, this is a lot of points.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Houston Texans

Denver Broncos vs Los Angeles Chargers -5 ½

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

The Chargers blew it against the Texans. LAC might be done. The loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15 may have been the death knell. Backing the Broncos on the moneyline makes some sense.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Denver Broncos

Carolina Panthers vs New Orleans Saints -6 ½

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

The Saints should get a few players back for this, including quarterback Taysom Hill and possibly left tackle Terron Armstead. Also, linebackers Demario Davis and Kwon Alexander figure to both play. If that happens, even if Davis is the only one that steps onto the field, the Saints’ defense will dominate.

NFL Week 17 Pick: New Orleans Saints

Arizona Cardinals vs Dallas Cowboys -5 ½

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

Arizona is reeling. The Cowboys are 12-3 ATS and undefeated SU and ATS versus NFC opponents. The Cardinals have no clue what to do. They’re bad in every phase of the game. Dallas should easily cover this spread.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Dallas Cowboys

Los Angeles Rams vs Baltimore Ravens -3

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

The Rams are on a 4-game winning streak. But lets’ be honest, they haven’t really beaten anybody. Because either Lamar Jackson or Tyler Huntley starts at quarterback, the Ravens are the play.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Baltimore Ravens

Detroit Lions vs Seattle Seahawks -7

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

Pete Carroll has lost his team. In the offseason, the Seahawks must make big changes to contend in the NFL’s toughest division. Expect Seattle to lie down in these next two games, which means Detroit moneyline is the way to go.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Detroit Lions

Minnesota Vikings vs Green Bay Packers -6 ½

  • When: Sunday, Jan. 2

The Vikings are a mess, but they have a victory over the Packers this season. More importantly, Green Bay struggled to beat the Ravens without Lamar Jackson and a beat up secondary. Then in NFL Week 16, the Packers struggled against the Cleveland Browns even though they picked off Baker Mayfield 4 times. Vikings to cover.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Minnesota Vikings

Cleveland Browns -3 vs Pittsburgh Steelers

  • When: Monday, Jan. 3

Yes, emotion will be on Pittsburgh’s side since this should be Big Ben Roethlisberger’s final home game. But the Steelers are bad at stopping the rush. So unless Baker throws another 4 interceptions, the Cleveland Browns should easily cover after Nick Chubb runs for 150 yards and scores 3 rushing TDs.

NFL Week 17 Pick: Cleveland Browns
