Golf fans get a pair of PGA Tour events this week with the Genesis Scottish Open and the Barbasol Championship. Like the Scottish Open, the Barbasol Championship is a co-sanctioned tournament between the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. This is the second year the event has run concurrently with the Scottish Open and provides one more opportunity for the leading non-exempt golfer into the Open Championship.
The tournament takes place outside of Lexington, Kentucky at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Tournament play begins on Thursday, July 13th, and concludes on Sunday, July 16th.
Trey Mullinax won the tournament in 2022, defeating Kevin Streelman by one shot. Mullinax fired a four-day total of 263 (25-under) to lock up his first PGA Tour victory.

The course was designed by Arthur Hill, and the layout opened in 1987. The scorecard reads as par-72 and can play over 7,300 yards.
One of the best courses in the state of Kentucky, Keene Trace is set in the rolling hills of the state and is accompanied by plenty of bunkers and large green complexes. The signature comes at the course’s closing hole, featuring an 18th hole that is challenging par-4 running along a lake.
The Field
With many of the top players on both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour teeing it up this week across the pond, the Barbasol Championship offers a unique opportunity for those players look to capture as many FedEx Cup points as possible along with a chance at entry into the Open.
Three past winners are in the field this week, led by 2019 champion Jim Herman. Herman comes in ranked 190th in the FedEx Cup standings and will be looking to find himself back atop the leaderboard for a huge boost in the rankings. Joining Herman are past champions, Grayson Murray, and Scott Piercy.
Temporary members Akshay Bhatia, Ryan Gerard, and Peter Kuest are aiming to improve their PGA Tour standing. Kuest is one of the betting favorites after finishing T4 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic and parlaying that finish a week later with a T17 at the John Deere Classic to earn temporary membership.
The top-ranked DP World Tour players in the field include Julien Guerrier, Aaron Cockerill, and Marcus Helligkilde.

Barbasol Championship Betting Favorites
Canada’s Taylor Pendrith is the betting favorite at +1600. Pendrith missed a pair of cuts before a solid T14 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic a few weeks ago.
Vincent Norrman follows behind at +2200. The 25-year-old has pieced together a solid season with six top-25 finishes and a pair of top-10s.
Kuest (+2200) is right at the top as well as the former BYU standout hopes to take home the victory and lock up his Tour status for the next two seasons.
South America’s MJ Daffue, Lucas Glover, and Bhatia round out the top betting favorites at +2800 apiece. Glover is trending in the right direction after a T4 at the Rocket Mortgage and T6 last weekend at the John Deere.
