Top 2022 Rugby Matches to Bet On: NRL Round 19, and Super League Games Preview

With just over a month to play, things are getting very tight in both the NRL and the Super League. Not necessarily at the top of the NRL where Penrith is running away with things, but in the middle where one win separates second place and sixth place.

St. Helen’s has a comfortable four-point lead in the Super League and will likely coast to a victory against last-place Wakefield Trinity. The rest of this weekend’s contests should be fairly competitive, however, let’s take a look at some of the top matches so you can get ready to make your bets against their Rugby Odds

Weekly Rundown of the Top Rugby Games to Must Bet On | July 19th Edition

Parramatta Eels (-2.5) vs Brisbane Broncos, NRL Thursday 5:50 AM ET

The Eels and Broncos (as well as the Storm) are all tied for fourth place in the NRL ladder with 24 points, making Thursday’s weekend opener extremely important for Parramatta and Brisbane. The Eels have won two straight, but also against weak competition in Wests Tigers and New Zealand.

Brisbane has lost five straight against the Eels, and these two teams also meet up in the penultimate match of the regular season. A win on Thursday would go a long way towards building momentum for what could be a very crucial contest near the end of the year.

Penrith Panthers (-12.5) vs Cronulla Sharks, NRL Saturday 3:30 AM ET

Penrith has won four straight in the series, with three of those coming by at least 13 points. The Panthers continue to dominate, picking up their eight straight victories last week, although the 18-16 final score against the last place Wests Tigers was much closer than many expected.

The Sharks have climbed into third place on the NRL ladder, but with Parramatta, Brisbane, and Melbourne coming fast, they are just two points back. In all likelihood, Cronulla will get caught this week, likely dropping this contest to the dominant 16-1 Panthers.

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Melbourne Storm (-1.5), NRL Saturday 4:35 AM ET

The rut continues for the unpredictable Storm (11-6), who dropped their third straight match last week to the ten-seeded Raiders. Things should get better for Melbourne this week, though, as they are 17-0 all-time at home against South Sydney. The Storm won 50-0 at home against the Rabbitohs last season.

Hull FC vs Castleford Tigers (-2.5), Super League Friday 3:00 PM ET

Hull FC needs a rebound match after getting absolutely exploited 60-0 by Wigan last week. That was the fifth loss in the last six matches for Hull FC, who is down to sixth in the Betfred Super League ladder.

Castleford is moving in the opposite direction as winners of four of their last five. That has put the Tigers into fifth on the ladder as they look for a third straight win over Hull.

Catalans Dragons (-8.5) vs Huddersfield Giants, Super League Saturday 1:00 PM ET

The premier match in the Super League this weekend is #4 Catalans against #3 Huddersfield. These two teams have combined to lose five of their last seven, so something has to give on Saturday.
