The end of the NRL regular season is now very much in sight, with each team now having just 3 or 4 more games to play.
You would expect that the playoff picture would be clear by this point, but just as it has been all season long, the table is tight, so we are likely going to see the battle for the top 8 spots go all the way down to the wire.
My Analysis for Round 24 top games
With that in mind, there are some huge games on the schedule for Week 24, all of which could have an impact on how the ladder looks when this weekend comes to a close.
With all of that said, let’s take a look at 4 games we really like this weekend.
^Penrith Panthers -182 vs Melbourne Storm +157
Thu Aug 15, 5:50 AM | No matter which way you look at it, there simply isn’t a bigger game on the schedule this week, as we have the top 2 teams going head-to-head in this one.
The Panthers are sitting in 2nd right now, 2 points back of their opponent, but they are going to like their chances here given that they are playing at home.
They have won 4 in a row, but will have a hard time against the Storm, who are winners of 3 of their last 4 to remain the #1 team in the NRL.
The Storm has won 7 of 9 games on the road.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs -204 vs Dolphins (Nrl) +160
Fri Aug 16, 1:00 AM | Both of these teams are in the top 8, but neither of them is totally safe just yet.
The Bulldogs can essentially secure a top 8 spot with a win this weekend, as they look to potentially move up from their current 5th place standing.
They have won 3 of their last 4 games, but perhaps more importantly, they are a perfect 9-0 at home.
The Dolphins are sitting in the #8 spot right now, but they could drop below the cut line with a loss this weekend.
The Dolphins have lost 3 of their last 5 and are 5-4 on the road.
^North Queensland Cowboys -204 vs Canberra Raiders +159
Sat Aug 17, 3:30 AM | There may be 4 spots separating these two teams on the ladder, but the gap is also just 4 points.
It is the Cowboys, who are in the #7 spot, who have the upper hand at the moment, and they can get one step closer to securing a top 8 spot with a win here.
The Cowboys are rolling right now, winning 3 of their last 4, and they are 5-5 at home.
The Raiders are down in the #11 spot and really need a win if they want to stay in the playoff hunt.
They are 2-2 in their last 4 games and 3-5 on the road.
^Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks -294 vs Newcastle Knights +219
Sun Aug 18, 2:05 AM | A win for the Sharks this weekend will secure them a spot in the top 8, but they will also be looking to maintain their current top 4 position.
They have been solid of late, winning 3 of their last 4 games.
They have also been strong at home, going 7-3 in their own building. The Knights are down in the #10 spot, but they are also just 2 points below the cut line, so all to play for still.
The Knights are heading in the wrong direction, though, picking up just 1 win in their last 4.
