On the season, FC Cincinnati are a perfect 5-0-0 at home, and they sit in second place in the East with 21 points from 10 games. This weekend they are back at home, facing seventh place D.C. United. While the visitors did win last weekend 3-0 at home against Charlotte, they are heading into a hostile environment on Saturday. 

D.C. United’s wins this season are against Toronto FC, Montreal CF, Orlando SC, and Charlotte FC. All four of those teams are below United in the standings, and two of them are tied for last place in the East. 

FC Cincinnati are -132 on the moneyline to win on Saturday, while United are +350 underdogs. A draw is listed at +290 for the matchup at TQL Stadium.

Los Angeles FC vs San Jose Earthquakes

Two of the top five teams in the West face off on Saturday when the San Jose Earthquakes host the defending champions, LAFC. San Jose is in fifth place with 15 points from 10 games and they are 4-0-1 at home this season. LAFC is in third place with 18 points from eight games, and they have played two less games than the two teams in front of them. 

LAFC are coming off a 3-0 thrashing of Philadelphia Union in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League. They had last weekend off in MLS play and haven’t lost in any competition since March 15. LAFC has scored at least two goals in six of the last nine games, and they have eight shutouts on the season in all competitions. 

San Jose drew 2-2 in Austin last weekend after losing in the U.S. Open Cup. They have scored in five straight MLS games and have a +6 goal differential at home this season. 

Last year, San Jose won at home against LAFC, and they have won four straight home games in this series. For LAFC to reverse that trend, MyBookie has them at +142 on Saturday. San Jose is +182 at home, and a draw is +244.

Seattle in Line for a Big Win

Sunday’s lone game is scheduled for a national audience on FOX, and it could be a very lopsided game. The Seattle Sounders lead the Western Conference with 20 points from 10 games, and they have a +10 goal differential with 17 scored and seven given up. 

On the other side of the standings are their opponents this week, Sporting Kansas City, SKC is winless in 10 games, and they have a total of three points on the season. They have also scored just three goals in 10 games while allowing 15 for a -12 goal differential. 

Adding in the stats that Sporting KC is 0-4-2 on the road this season, and Seattle is 4-0-1 at home, this game should be very one-sided. Seattle won the first matchup this season 4-1, and that game was in Kansas City, expect a similar game this week. 

At MyBookie, Seattle is a massive favorite at -165, with SKC at +410. A draw is +295, and over 2.5 goals is +120.

Toronto has home pitch advantage, which is why the odds make the home squad a slight underdog. But although this happens on Toronto’s pitch, the home team has struggled.

Toronto is 0-4 straight up in their last 4 games. Orlando City has won 3-of-5. These two drew in the last head-to-head. In the head-to-head before, Orlando City beat Toronto 3-2. The road squad is solid.

Los Angeles FC +170 vs Colorado Rapids +150

When: Saturday, May 14 at 3:30 pm ET

Because this happens on the Rapids’ pitch oddsmakers have given Colorado the benefit of the doubt. They shouldn’t. Los Angeles is playing like Major League Soccer’s best team. 

LAFC has won 4-of-5 with a draw. The draw happened versus Philadelphia Union in a 2-2 match on May 7. Los Angeles beat Colorado 3-0 earlier this year on Feb. 26. A similar score is possible even if this happens on the Rapids’ field.

Columbus Crew +1 -129 vs New York City FC -1 +102

Columbus has a win, 2 losses, and 2 draws in their last 5. New York City FC shows 4 wins and a draw in their last 5.

In the last head-to-head, NYCFC blasted Columbus 4-1. New York City is playing lights out while Columbus is struggling. At -1, we get our money back if NYCFC only wins by a goal. Luckily for us, New York City should win by at least 2.

New York Red Bulls +205 vs Philadelphia Union +138

When: Saturday, May 14 at 7:30 pm ET

Philadelphia’s form isn’t horrendous. Philly Union has lost 2 and drawn 3 times in their last 5. Philadelphia also beat the Red Bulls in the last head-to-head.

New York Red Bulls has won 4-of-5 with a draw. The draw happened versus the Portland Timbers. We’d love to back the Red Bulls at the odds, but, eventually, their form should turn south. Philadelphia looks solid for the win.

Portland hosting Sporting KC should be one of the most competitive MLS matches of the day. The Timbers have drawn 3 times and lost twice in their last 5. 

Portland and Sporting drew 1-1 in the last head-to-head. The last head-to-head happened last August. So a lot of time has past since then. The road team heads into this off a 4-2 victory against Dallas. Before the win, KC had drawn in 3 straight. The draw looks like a solid play.

Minnesota United FC +1 -147 vs Seattle Sounders -1 +111

When: Sunday, May 15 at 4:00 pm ET

Seattle blasted Pumas UNAM 3-0 to win the CONCACAF Champions League. Since winning the CONCACAF Champions League, the Sounders have lost 2 straight.

But although Seattle isn’t playing well, this happens on their pitch. The handicap odds mean we get our stake back if we back Seattle at -1. That’s a more than fair bet on the Sounders to get back on the winning track. Seattle can win this by more than a goal.
