The first month of the English Premier League season is in the books and, for the most part, things are playing out as expected.
There have been a couple of minor surprises in the early going, but as is so often the case in the EPL, the cream always seems to find a way to rise to the top.
My English Premier League Matchday 5 Analysis
We are at the point now where things begin to get a little congested, as the top teams will be starting their European campaigns this week, which will add to an already busy schedule and increase the risk of injuries becoming an issue.
We are simply focused on the upcoming games this weekend, so let’s look at 4 we really like.

If you are on the east coast, you may want to set your alarm, as the early game on Saturday is a beauty.
This London derby aways seems to deliver some fireworks and is always a game worth tunning into.
West Ham is out to a bit of a wobbly start, picking up 4 points through their opening 4 games, which has them down in the bottom half.
After losing in the opening game of the season, Chelsea has bounced back with 2 wins and a draw.
I think we can expect some goals in this one, but I like Chelsea to edge it.

After being taken over by wealthy Middle Eastern ownership, the expectations for Newcastle have grown rather dramatically.
Even with being one of the wealthiest clubs in the league, financial fair play dictates that they cannot just spend a fortune to bring in new players.
They are making progress, though, and are unbeaten this season, taking 10 points from a possible 12.
Fulham are in the middle of the table right now, but they are unbeaten (1 win, 3 draws) in their last 3, so they will not be an easy out.

In one of the biggest shocks of the season to this point, Liverpool saw their perfect start come to an end last weekend with a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest.
They need to bounce back immediately from that one, and they will certainly like their chances at home to Bournemouth, who are currently sitting down in 11th.
The Cherries are coming off their first loss of the season last weekend, picking up 5 points from their opening 3 games.
This should be a comfortable win for Liverpool.

This is, without a doubt, the biggest game of the weekend, as these are the two teams that everyone expects to be dueling it out for the title this season.
Manchester City has come storming out of the gate, winning all 4 games and outscoring the opposition 11-3 in the process.
Arsenal is in 2nd place, with the only points they have dropped coming in a controversial tie game against Brighton after seeing Declan Rice sent off for the most trivial of things.
I think we get a tight one here, and I would not be surprised to see both teams settle for a share of the spoils.
