The international break is now officially over, which means that teams will be heading back to their domestic clubs and getting ready for the next round of action this weekend.
While there will be games going on all over the major European leagues this weekend, we are turning our attention to Matchday 8 in the English Premier League.
My English Premier League Matchday 8 Analysis
We have good battles going on at both ends of the table, but there is a lot of football to come before we can seriously talk about potential champions or relegations candidates.
It’s all about winning the next game up, so every team in the league is going to be ready to go out and win this weekend.
Let’s look at the top EPL games and make some predictions as we go.

Tottenham -200 vs West Ham +410

Where: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, England
The early game on Saturday is a big one, as we have a London derby between a pair of teams that do not have a lot of love for one another.
Tottenham are currently sitting in 9th in the table but only 4 points out of the top 4. They have had trouble of late, though, going 2-3 in their last 5 games.
West Ham picked up a win in their game before the international break, a victory that moved them up to 12th, but still too close to the drop one for comfort.
It has been the Hammers who have had the best of this matchup of late, winning 2 and drawing 1 in their last 3 versus Spurs, but I am not that confident in them this weekend.

Manchester United -150 vs Brentford +340

Where: Old Trafford, Manchester, England
United ended last season with a win in the FA Cup Final, a victory that more than likely saved their manager, Erik Ten Hag, from getting the sack.
The manager is back in the hot seat again, though, with United currently languishing down in 14th place in the table. If they lose again on Saturday, a managerial change may well be coming sooner rather than later.
Brentford has made a habit of scoring in the opening minute over the past few games, but the results have still not really gone their way.
United are seeing the injury bug hit again, but I still think they find a way to win at home.

Liverpool -155 vs Chelsea +360

For me, this is the game of the weekend, and it is the one that will close out Matchday 8 on Sunday afternoon. This is a season of change for Liverpool, with Arne Slot taking the reins from Jurgen Klopp, who retired at the end of last season.
The transition has been a smooth one, as Liverpool now find themselves at the top of the table, picking up 18 points from a possible 21.
Chelsea got out to a rough start, but they are now flying, with Cole Palmer leading the way by banging in goals at a ridiculous rate, including 4 in his last start.
Liverpool is unbeaten against Chelsea in their last 4 meetings, winning 2 and drawing 2, and I think they maintain that record with a win in what should be a fin one to watch.
