Top Soccer Betting Picks of the Week – May 21st

There can be no denying that the big game this coming week is the Champions League Finals between Real Madrid and Liverpool. Montreal Impact vs. LA Galaxy

• When: Monday, May 21st

It’s odd to see an MLS game go on a Monday, never mind in the middle of the afternoon, but it’s Victoria Day in Canada, so we are in for a special treat. The Montreal Impact are off to a horrible start, and currently, find themselves second bottom in the Eastern Conference. It has been their 1-6 record on the road that has hurt them, but they are also just 2-2 at home. The Galaxy is out of the playoff picture in the West, and after a flying start, Zlatan has not made much of an impact. LA is just 1-3-1 on the road in the early going. In 6 lifetime meetings, the home team has never lost, although there are a lot of ties in there. Let’s go with the draw. Score Prediction: Montreal Impact 2 – LA Galaxy 2

Aston Villa vs. Fulham

The winner of this game, which will be played at Wembley Stadium, will find themselves in the Premier League next season. The stakes are absolutely huge here, and we can probably expect some early jitters in this game. Fulham finished the season with 5 more points than Villa, good enough for 3rd, and they were also better at sticking the ball in the back of the net. Villa is defensively solid, which they proved by winning 1-0 on aggregate over Middlesbrough in the semi-finals. These two have split their last 4 meetings, so the winner here is anyone’s guess. Real Madrid vs. Liverpool

The Champions League Final delivers a match-up between a pair of teams who know how to score goals, so let’s hope for some offensive fireworks here. The biggest question heading into this one is the fitness of Cristiano Ronaldo. Madrid is saying that he is fit and ready to go, but just how fit is he? This is a team that goes as Ronaldo does, so they really need him to be at his best. There seem to be very few injury concerns for Liverpool, and while they finished their domestic season quite poorly, they can probably be excused for looking ahead to this one. I think this will be a great final, and I have Madrid winning their 3rs straight Champions League crown. Score Prediction: Real Madrid 3 – Liverpool 2

New York Red Bulls vs. Philadelphia Union

The Red Bulls are coming off what was arguably their best win of the season after heading to Atlanta and getting a 3-1 win on the road. They now head back home to try and improve upon their 4-1 home record, which would help them inch ever closer to the top of the Eastern Conference. Their visitors this weekend will be the Philadelphia Union, who are currently sitting just below the playoff line in the East. Philly has struggled on the road in the early part of the season and could be in big trouble here. Score Prediction: New York Red Bulls 3 – Philadelphia Union 0
