ATP 2022 French Open Betting Analysis and Top 3 Odds Favorites

The 2022 French Open is just over a month away, and while a lot can happen before the world’s top tennis players travel to Stade Roland Garros, we should have a pretty good idea of who should do well and which players will fall flat.

So today, we check out the latest 2022 French Open Betting odd show and which three tennis players are considered the main favorites to win on the French Clay.

2022 ATP French Open: Top 3 Odds And Favorites

Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal, also known as the “King of Clay,” is the main favorite to win in France and collect his 14th French Open title. That makes a lot of sense, seeing how Nadal has already proven that he still “has it” in Australia and because he is the most dominant player in the French Open history.

Since his debut at Roland Garros in 2005, Nadal has won 100 matches on Paris’ iconic tennis court and has suffered only three losses against Robin Soderling in 2009 and Djokovic in 2015 and 2021. Moreover, he holds a perfect 13/13 record in the French Open finals, and he has never been required to play the fifth set at Roland Garros.

We could go on and on about all of Nadal’s records at the French Open, including how he has won the trophy four consecutive times between 2005-2008, but we don’t have to since it’s very clear that Nadal is far and wide the most successful player on the French court.

Novak Djokovic

Very few players can say that they defeated Rafael Nadal on the French clay courts, but Novak Djokovic is an exception. The Serbian tennis superstar is just one of two players to have accomplished the unthinkable at Rolland Garros and defeated Rafael Nadal. And he has done it twice!

Djokovic first defeated Nadal in 2015 and again in 2021, when he eliminated the Spaniard from the semi-finals. So if there is one player who can deny Nadal his 14th French Open title, it’s Djokovic, who is fittingly priced as the second favorite to defend his 2021 title.

But even though Djokovic is an incredibly talented player and a two-time French Open champion, we haven’t seen much of him this season. So it’s very hard to say how he will do in May.

Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz came out of nowhere to claim the tag as the third-favorite to win the 2022 French Open, and deservingly so. The 18-year-old has been the main story of the tennis world for the last fere months and has gained some serious recognition following his emphatic victory at the 2022 Miami Open.

But that was not his only success in 2022. Alcaraz had previously won the Rio Open with straight sets against Schwartzman and made the semi-finals of the Indian Wells Masters, where he had to admit defeat to Nadal (4-6, 6-4, 3-6).

The young Spaniard had proven he could go toe-to-toe with the best tennis players in the world, but the question remains – can he deliver in France? He made his debut here in 2021 when Alcaraz reached R3, which isn’t spectacular

Still, he ended the season with a QF appearance at the U.S. Open and made R3 in Australia earlier this year. The youngster has shown glimpses of greatness, making it hard to ignore him ahead of the French Open. And even though he will have a mountain to climb if he wishes to win, Alcaraz has shown enough for us to keep an eye on him.
