Williams was granted one of a handful of wildcard entries.
While Williams is the sentimental favorite, the former world No. 1 will be in tough to beat Minnen, who is 9-1 in her last ten matches and 48-15 this season, albeit with most of those wins in ITF events. Williams is just 3-6 this season.
