The NASCAR season continues this weekend with the drivers heading to Bristol for the next round of races.

We will, of course, have you covered with all the action, but for the purposes of this piece, we are focusing on the Weather Guard Truck Race, which is set to go on Saturday night at 8 PM EST. This will be the 4th race of the season in the Truck Series and no driver has yet to win more than one race, which is not that surprising this early in the season. Still, it makes trying to pick a winner for this one a little tougher, so what we are going to do here is look at the current top 4 in the Truck Series driver standings to see if any of those guys can come away with the win, so let’s get right to it.

Tyler Ankrum

Yes, it is still very early in the year, but all signs seem to be pointing toward this being a breakout season for Ankrum. He cracked the top 10 overall in his first 2 seasons at this level, but the last 3 years have not been anywhere near that good, with 12th overall his best finish during that stretch. After 3 races in 2024, Ankrum is sitting atop the driver standings and getting better each week. He started with an 11th place run in Daytona, followed by a 7th place finish in Atlanta, after which he landed on the podium in Las Vegas. If he continues that trajectory, then a win seems to be on the cards.

Ty Majeski

A pair of top 10 finishes, including a 2nd in race 2 of the season, has Majeski up near the top of the pack in the early going. This is certainly a solid enough start for a driver looking to bounce back after getting ousted in the Round of 8 last season. The year prior, he made it all the way to the Championship Round before coming up short, so Majeski certainly has what it takes to win it all. He also has what it takes to win in Bristol, just as he did in the 2022 season. Given that result, he is probably happy that this race has switched from dirt back to concrete, and I think he could win again this weekend.

Corey Heim

Last season, Heim committed to racing full time in the Truck Series, a move that paid off big, as he made it all the way to the Championship Round. While he ultimately came up short, his full season performance has the bookies looking at him as a potential champion in 2024. Heim is certainly proving that he deserves to be among the favorites, as he has landed on the podium in each of the first 3 races this season. He won the playoff race in Bristol last season, so he has to be considered a serious threat on Saturday.

Rajah Caruth

Caruth made his first full-time appearance in the Truck Series in 2023 and had something of an up and down season, finishing 16th overall. Caruth is still very young and learning to adjust to life in NASCAR, but it does seem as though he is beginning to settle in nicely, as he picked up his first win in Las Vegas in the 3rd race of the season. He has not been outside the top 10 in each of the 3 races to start the season, so he may be worth looking at for a back-to-back win.

NASCAR Truck Series: Pinty’s Truck Race on Dirt Odds, Analysis & Prediction

We all love the action and excitement of NASCAR and the long, hard drive to a championship. That said, it is fun to see a break in the regular proceedings, which usually come in the form of the races that are not run on the traditional oval. We are getting that this weekend in Bristol, as it will be a dirt track that the drivers have to negotiate, which makes for a whole different ball game. The trucks will hit the dirt on Saturday night at 8 PM EST for their race, and this should be a fun one to watch. The season is off to a very good start, with the driver standings rather tight at the top. The outcome of this one, which is always a bit of a crapshoot, could change how things look at the top. Let’s take a look at the current NASCAR betting analysis of the top drivers to see how they might handle the Bristol dirt.

Ty Majeski

Majeski had a solid season in 2022, his first as a full-time driver in the Truck Series, finishing 4th overall, which included a pair of wins in the playoffs. The way he closed out the year suggested that he might be a major player this season, which has certainly proven to be the case. Majeski is at the top of the driver standings, and while he is still looking for his first win of the season, he has landed in the top 5 in 3 of the 5 races to this point. It is a much better start than what he had last year, so we can perhaps expect a better finish than the 21st place run he had in this race in 2022.

Zane Smith

You can’t ask for much more in the way of consistency than what Smith has delivered over his first 3 full seasons in the Truck Series. He ranked 2nd overall in his first 2 years before finally getting over the hump and winning it all last season. Smith has picked up right where he left off and has already taken a couple of checkered flags from the first 5 races of the season. He has already won on a road course, but can he do the same on the dirt? Well, he finished 10th in this corresponding race last season, so every reason to believe he could be in the mix.

Ben Rhodes

This is a driver that has a win and a 2nd place finish overall in the last 2 seasons in the Truck Series, so another one who knows all about consistency and the ability to win. That said, he is still looking for his first victory of the 2023 season, but he has only been outside the top 10, and even then only just, once through the opening 5 races. Perhaps that drought might end this weekend, though, as he won on the dirt last year, making him the favorite here.

Christian Eckes

Prior to this season, Eckes had managed just 1 win in his time with the Truck Series, but since he is only just 22 years of age, the feeling is that we have yet to see the best of him. He is off to a very solid start this season, winning in Atlanta and also managing a podium finish at Daytona. He ran in the top 5 in the Bristol dirt race last season, so I would not be surprised to see him up among the leaders again this weekend.
