ACC Most Anticipated Conference Matches Expert Predictions

Georgia Tech Vs Notre Dame – Sept 3

You won’t have to wait long to get your first real taste of ACC action with Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, as the opening weekend of the season has a couple of great match-ups. Prepare to get out of bed early if you want to see this one, as the game will be played in Ireland, making it an early morning affair on this side of the pond. Both of these teams are coming off disappointing seasons last year, and both will be looking to get 2016 off to a fast start. That makes for an intriguing game.

Clemson at Auburn – Sept 3

Not a conference match up per se, but one that cannot be ignored. The Clemson Tigers cannot wait to get this season stated after coming so close to glory last year, and they have decided to start the hard way with a trip to Alabama to face the Auburn Tigers. It was a down year for Auburn last season, but Clemson know just how hard it is to go into SEC country and get a win. This is a tough one, but a win here could set them on the right path for another run at a National Championship.

Penn State at Pitt – Sept 10

It has been 16 years since these two teams last locked horns, and that is just too long in our humble opinion. Absence will almost certainly not have made the heart grow fonder for these two programs, and while neither figure to be among the top teams at the end of the season, there is something about seeing these two teams go head to head after such a long time that makes this game more than a little exciting.

Virginia Tech Vs Tennessee – Sept 10

Again, not a match-up for ACC teams, but a game that is one of the most heavily anticipated of the season. The Virginia Tech Hookies will be heading to the Bristol Motor Speedway to face SEC opposition in a game that has already sold over 160,000 tickets. The atmosphere for this one is sure to be electric, and both teams will be determined to rev their engines when they take to the field.

Clemson at Florida State – Oct 29

This is perhaps the most anticipated ACC match-up of the season, and by the time this one rolls around, we should have a very clear idea of what these two teams are all about this year. Florida State are looking to bounce back in a big way in 2016, and Clemson are looking to go one win better than they did last year. This is a pair of conference giants going head to head, and we can’t wait to see them collide.
