The weekend is just a few days away and online NCAA Football betting lines fans are preparing for an action-packed slate of conference matchups. In the Pac-12 Conference, the Oregon Ducks (5-3) are preparing for a dicey game against the California Golden Bears (5-3) in a highly-anticipated Pacific North Division encounter. Over the recent years, this fixture has been dominated by the Ducks, who have won the last six straight games against the Bears. Even so, the Ducks have met the Bears 78 times in total, out of which they have won 36 times and drawn just twice, with California leading the series with 40 wins. Adding to the tossup nature of the game, both teams have recorded a couple of quality wins and bad losses, making it hard to pin-point who will get the win this week. Can the vengeful Bears, looking to end Oregon’s recent dominance, eat up the Ducks this time, or will the Ducks find a way of swimming away to safety once again? Find out as we preview this enthralling online betting encounter in the section below.

Betting on the Oregon Ducks

The Ducks are coming into this encounter fresh from muddling their way past Arizona State in Week 9. They started that game brightly, rising above the Sun Devils with a 10-0 early lead in the first quarter. However, they allowed the Sun Devils back into the game and by the end of the fourth quarter, the game was tied 41-41, forcing an overtime to decide the winner. And as fate hard it, the Ducks recovered in the OT to win the game 61- 55. Entering this game, the Ducks will be relying on their free flowing offense—that is averaging 42 points and 514.4 yards per game—to lead them to a win over the Bears, who boast of an equally good offensive unit.  This Oregon attack is spearheaded by Vernon Adams Jr., who has tallied 1168 yards, 10 touchdowns and 3 interceptions to his name this year in spite of missing some time due to injury this season. Royce Freeman, another key weapon in the offense, leads the running backs with 1109 yards and 11 touchdowns., while the receiving game is paced by Bralon Addison, who has recorded 453 yards and 4 touchdowns. Given that the Bears defense is allowing an average of 26.8 points and 418.4 yards per game, Adams and his weapons will need to raise the bar high. Of course, the bulk of work will be on Oregon’s defense that has been guilty of giving up cheap points and yardages throughout the season, allowing 38.4 points and 496.9 yards per game. Against a California offense that is averaging 35.8 points with 490.2 yards per game, this defense will need to be on its best of games, If they allow the Bears into this game as was the case with the Sun Devils last week, a big loss could be in the books for them.

Betting on the California Golden Bears

The Golden Bears are not experiencing a golden moment right now after what seems like a dejavu to them. One year ago, they struggled and lost three in a row after starting the season 5-1. This year, it is more-or-less the same story, as they have now lost three in a row to UCLA, Utah and USC after beginning 5-0 and even getting ranked as high as No. 20 in the AP rankings. A quick turnaround is thus required if they are to have a chance of reaching the Bowl games for the first time since 2011. Fortunately for them, their offense is ably led by quarterback Jared Goff, who is amongst the best passers in the nation with 2537 yards and 22 touchdowns against 11 interceptions. Kenny Lawler is Goff’s favorite target with 527 yards and 9 touchdowns, while Khalfani Muhammad paces the rushing game with 459 yards and 1 touchdown.  Evidently, Goff and his weapons are talented, but they’ll need a lot of discipline and a spirited performance against the Ducks’ defense that has racked up 26 sacks, 6 fumble recoveries and 9 interceptions this season. On their part, the Bears have collected 22 sacks, 10 fumble recoveries, and 12 interceptions, which should offer a better front against the sometimes out-of-sorts Ducks offense. Before they lost three in a row, the Bears were having a great season, so be on the lookout for a strong game from them as they seek to become eligible for this year’s Bowlanza.

California at Oregon Final NCAAF Lines Predictions and Picks

Oregon brings a two-game winning streak into this game and will be looking for a third straight win. Against a Cal team that is reeling off three losses and is focused on getting back on the winning column, this game guarantees competitiveness and possibly a lot of points, particularly if you consider the not-so-tough nature of both offenses. Statistically, both teams have solid pieces in the offense, but the Ducks have a disadvantage because their defense has been far from formidable. After nearly allowing Arizona State to steal their show last week, we believe that Goff and Co. should be able to do better. Cal may have lost three in a row, but it is still one of the best surprises in the Pac-12 this season, something that is highly likely to allow them to beat the Ducks, who’ve tumbled from a preseason playoff contender to a team that can virtually be beaten by anyone. So for those looking for free NCAAF picks, go with California for the SU and ATS, with the total almost definitely going OVER.
