The men’s 2023 ICC World Cup was originally scheduled to be played in February and March. However, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed qualifying, and the tournament was moved to October and November. Hosted by India, the ICC World Cup will draw tremendous crowds and excitement this fall when action finally gets underway.
India has co-hosted three previous events, but the 2023 edition will be the first time the event is completely held in the country. Three of the 10 spots are still up for grabs in qualification, but superpowers England, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Australia are already qualified, along with host India.
England are the defending champions from 2019 as they defeated New Zealand in the finals in London. The title was the first for England, who hadn’t reached the final since 1992. Australia and India were the other semifinalists four years ago and are threats to win it all this fall.
Australia have won five titles since 1987 and have reached at least the semifinals in seven of the last nine World Cups. India have reached three straight semis but haven’t won since 2011, and Pakistan last won the title in 1992. New Zealand hasn’t won yet but have reached six semifinals in the last two events with two straight runner-up finishes.

The Ashes is a test cricket series between England and Australia that dates back to 1882. The teams last met in 2021-22, with Australia hosting and winning the series 4-0. This year’s edition will be held in England between June 16 and July 31.
The English will be looking to get revenge on their home soil after losing last year. They did beat Australia at home in the 2019 ICC World Cup semifinals before winning the title over New Zealand. England haven’t won the Ashes since 2015, but Australia have won just once in England since 2001.

The Royals and Titans are among four teams tied for second place with eight points from the first seven games. The Super Kings won the title in 2021 and have finished first or second in four of the last seven seasons.
