eSports Betting: League of Legends LPL Summer Split June 27th Matches

Written by on June 25, 2020

League of Legends is played on a global scale, with leagues dotted all over the world. While there are several tournaments played throughout the year, it is perhaps the Spring and Summer leagues that are the most fun to watch and wager on. Each individual league has its own set of basic rules, bit for the purposes of this piece we are going to turn to the LPL, which is the Chinese league in the League of Legends. Their season is already a couple of weeks in and features a total of 17 teams going head to head in round robin play. Each of the matches are played as a best of 3 games, with the top 8 teams moving on to the playoffs once the regular season comes to a close. Once we get to the playoffs, the matches switch to a best of 5 and a single elimination. The winner qualifies for the Worlds 2020, so this is a huge competition. Right now, though, it’s all about securing one of those top 8 spots, so let’s take a closer look at the 2 games on the Saturday schedule so you can plan ahead your bets against their League of Legends odds.

League of Legends LPL Summer Split June 27th Matches

Suning (-588) Vs Dominus Esports (+330)

It was a disappointing Spring Season for Suning, as they ended up with a 7-9 record that left them down in 11th place and out of the playoffs. They are, though, off to a better start this time around after going 3-3 through their first 6 games. That record has them sitting in 7th place at the LPL standings, which would be good enough for a playoff spot, but with 10 games still to come, Sunning need to keep picking up wins. In overall games played in Spring, Suning went 19-22, but they are 9-9 to start this season. Dominus Esports were not even close to making the playoffs last season, going 6-10, but they are going to be even more out of it this season if the early going is any indication. They have started the season at 0-5 and are sitting dead last, but perhaps even more troubling is that they have yet to even win a game, going 0-10 there. It’s hard to imagine Dominus suddenly rising up and getting the win here, so my money is on Suning.

FunPlus Phoenix (-322) Vs eStar Gaming (+204)

Coming into this Summer Season, FunPlus Phoenix had to be viewed as one of the favorites to challenge for the crown. After all, they went 12-4 in the Spring regular season and went all the way to the semi-finals before losing to FD Gaming, the eventual winners. They did, though, win the consolation game and ended up taking third overall. They are off to a bit of an uneven start this season, going 2-2 and 6-5 in games played. eStar went 11-5 in the regular season in Spring, but were bounced out in the opening round of the playoffs in a 5-game thriller. They came into this season looking to take another run at the postseason, but they find themselves down in 11th after a 2-3 start. This could be a close one that might require all 3 games to decide, but I am going with FunPlus Phoenix to get the win.
