Top eSports Betting Picks of the Week – January 30th Edition

Saturday, February 3

CLG vs. Echo Fox (5:00 PM)

Counter Logic Gaming (1-3) is off to a pretty awful start in the North American LCS as they lost to Clutch Gaming 1-0 on Saturday after digging themselves into a big hole they couldn’t get out of in a 31-minute loss. CLG did manage to get its first win of the season by getting past Golden Guardians 1-0 on Sunday, although, even that win came with its share of struggles as CLG had to come back from a 3,000 gold deficit. Now, CLG looks like they’re in real trouble against an Echo Fox (4-0) team that is off to a perfect start after beating both, Cloud9 and Team SoloMid last weekend.Echo had its way against their opponents through their first three games and they showed some real fortitude to come back against TSM on Sunday. The first 38 minutes of the game were dominated by Team SoloMid (1-3) as they ran out to a lead in kills, turrets, and gold. However, Echo Fox came back mostly because Jungler Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett’s Zac carried Echo back from the brink by connecting with his crowd control to set up the dominoes for the rest of Echo Fox to knock down. Now, for this Week 3 mismatch, Echo Fox is the easy pick to get the win and remain unbeaten through five games.CLG has looked a bit overwhelmed while Echo Fox just keeps on problem-solving to pick up victories. This one won’t be close as Echo Fox rolls!eSports Betting Pick: Echo Fox

Cloud9 vs. OpTic Gaming (6:00 PM)

Cloud9 (3-1) dropped its first game of the season in a back and forth affair against unbeaten Echo Fox on Saturday, but they bounced back nicely to beat 100 Thieves 1-0 on Sunday while handing them their first loss of the season. C9 dictated the map with a focus on the mid-game team makeup and got a fantastic performance from mid lamer Nicola “Jensen” Jensen,OpTic Gaming (1-3) fell to 0-3 by losing to a previously winless TSM team on Saturday before rebounding on Sunday to get past Fly Quest and record their first win of the season. Even in defeat, OpTic put up a great effort against Team SoloMid in what was one of the longest games of the NA LCS split so far.Mid lamer Tristan “Willpower” Sch rage on Sandra and jungler Matthew “Annadiana” O’Higgins on Kha’Zix excelled, with both players picking up numerous kills around the Infernal Drakes and allowing their team to take two of the three Infernal.League of Legends take the main stage for this week eSports Betting Picks.Unfortunately for OpTic Gaming, Cloud9 has too much focus and too cohesive a playing style to lose this Saturday night showdown. While OpTic Gaming showed some real fight and looked more cohesive themselves last weekend, they’re still clearly a cut below a C9 team that is undoubtedly the second best team in the NA LCS right now.I expect Cloud9 to dominate and you should too!eSports Betting Pick: Cloud 9

FlyQuest vs. Team Liquid (8:00 PM)

FlyQuest (2-2) split two games last weekend by beating Golden Guardians after a late rally in Saturday before falling against Team SoloMid on Sunday. In spite of being regarded as one of the weaker rosters in the NA LCS entering the split and being forced to play substitute mid-laner Jang “Keane” Lae-young, FlyQuest and Keane both rose to the occasion to get the win. Unfortunately, one day later, FlyQuest got dominated by Echo Fox as their opponents recorded four kills by the 13-minute mark.Team Liquid (3-1) suffered a difficult defeat against previously uneaten 100 Thieves on Saturday but rebounded to get past Clutch Gaming 1-0 on Day 2 of Week 2 on Sunday by recording a pair of kills before they reached the 10-minute mark. Now, I’m going to urge you to back Team Liquid in this Saturday night showdown mostly because they employ a fantastic strategy of targeting their opponents’ strengths. Right now, Team Liquid is in a fight for second place with Cloud9 and I just don’t see them dropping this match against a FlyQuest team they’re clearly superior to.eSports Betting Pick: Team Liquid
