Horse Racing Betting On Breeder’s Cup Not Limited to Saturday

While the majority of the money being wagered at the Breeders Cup this weekend will be going on the BC Classic on Saturday, there are plenty of other great races that deserve your horse racing betting attention. Some people are not even aware that the Breeders Cup takes place over two days, and that there are 4 magnificent races being run on Friday afternoon at Keeneland Park. Let’s take a look at those, and who might grab a share of the $5 million in purse money these races offer up.

The BC Juvenile Turf Horse Betting Lines

Race 6 on the Keeneland card on Friday, featuring a solid field of 14 horses looking for a share of the $1 million purse. Recent history has favored the European horses, as 6 of the last 8 winners of this race have come from across the pond. That would seem to rule out the ML favorite Cymric, who is a Kentucky-bred horse. The fact that he has also drawn an outside post further hurts his chances. I like Airoforce to win this one, with Ray’s the Bar coming a close second. If you are looking for a longshot to put in your exotics, you might want to take a look at Irish import Shogun, who is 12/1 in the ML.

The Las Vegas Dirt Mile

Race 7 on the card, and it offers an opportunity for a wee bit of an upset. That is because this race has been tough on the favorites in recent years, although if that trend is going to change, it may well be here. ML favorite Liam’s Map looks like the cream of the crop here, and he has the speed and the ability to go wire to wire. If anyone is going to upset the favorite in this one, my money would be on Red Vine, who opens at 6/1. He might well be worth a place bet, with Lea another horse to look at in your exotics.

BC Juvenile Fillies Turf

Race 8 offers a field of 14 2-year olds. This is another race where European horses, who predominantly race on turf, tend to excel. Harmonize is the ML favorite at 7/2, and is a horse that most definitely should not be left out of your exotic bets. I like Alice Springs, another import from the Emerald Isle, to spring the mild upset here. Illuminate might also get up for a share of the money, while longshot Last Waltz might find a way to sneak in for a share at 20/1.

Breeders’ Cup Distaff

The feature race of the day is in the 9th, which is when 14 fillies and mares aged 3 or older will compete for a $2 million purse. Untapable, who won this race last year, will be in the field, and will likely draw a lot of money. I’m looking at something with a little longer odds, though, which has me leaning towards I’m A Chatterbox. Not a fan of the inside post position, but this is a horse that always seems to find a way to get in the money.
