To say that the opening couple of months of the major league baseball have been odd is putting things rather mildly. Teams that we expected to soar have failed to take flight, allowing several surprise teams to shoot to the top of their respective divisions. While things tend to have a way of straightening themselves out over the course of a 162-game season, there are some teams who look as though they are set to stay their current course. One of those teams, and one of the more pleasant surprises this season, is the Colorado Rockies.

They were considered a potential dark horse in the National League, but they are now considered a legitimate contender after a very solid start. The Cleveland Indians came within a game of winning the World Series last season, and after strengthening their team in the offseason, they were considered to be a lock in the AL Central. Things have not gone according to plan just yet, and they will be in for another stern test when they head to Colorado for some interleague action on Wednesday afternoon. Here’s A Closer Look At The 2017 MLB Free Picks Cleveland Indians At Colorado Rockies

The Indians (29-26) have gotten off to an inconsistent start this season, yet still find themselves only a game back of the lead in the AL Central. The problem here is that they are just not doing enough to wrestle away control from the Minnesota Twins, and are just 5-5 in their last 10 games. The good news is that the rest of the division does not look particularly strong, and given the amount of talent on this Indians team, you get the feeling that it’s only a matter of time before they start to pull away from the pack. Their pitching has been solid so far, and they should be able to hold them in there until the bats start to heat up. Trevor Bauer (5-4, 5.83 ERA) will start for the Indians on Wednesday.
