Playing at home, the NLCS Game 2 Betting Odds favors Los Angeles Dodgers.

Best MLB Lines & Betting Series You Shouldn’t Miss This Week

Written by on June 19, 2017

How much fun is the NL West Division right now? Three teams out there, the Rockies, Diamondbacks and Dodgers, all have a winning percentage of at least .639. It sure looks like both wild-card spots will come from the West. With that in mind, here are two betting series I recommend early this week,  including one involving the Dodgers. Also, don’t forget to be on the look for more MLB lines for the rest of the baseball week.

Best MLB Lines & Betting Series You Shouldn’t Miss This Week

New York Mets At Los Angeles Dodgers

When: Monday June 19th. Tuesday, June 20th. Wednesday, June 21st. Where: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California MLB Lines: LA Dodgers at -400 / NY Mets at +310 To illustrate, this is a television executive’s dream with the two top media markets in the country and it’s the first time these two will meet this MLB season. The Dodgers have won three straight and nine of 10 and are tied for second in the NL West, a game behind the Rockies. They’re coming off a successful weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds that ended 3-0 . Regarding the injury-ravaged Mets, they’re second in the NL East but also six games under .500 and 10.5 behind first-place Washington. They are also coming off a 4 game series this past weekend against the Nationals, which ended at 1-3 You can pretty much already stick a fork in the Mets’ playoff hopes considering how many players they have on the DL long-term. Last week, the club lost pitcher Matt Harvey, second baseman Neil Walker and outfielder Juan Lagares all to the DL for multiple weeks.

Who Will Pitch on Tuesday?

The Dodgers start ace left-hander Clayton Kershaw (9-2, 2.23) in Game 1 of the four-game series against Mets right-hander Zach Wheeler (3-4, 4.48). Needless to say, L.A. is a huge favorite there. Kershaw hasn’t faced the Mets since May 29, 2016, when he struck out 10 with no walks and yielded two runs on four hits in 7 2/3 innings in a 4-2 win by the Dodgers. Kershaw did not factor into the decision. In 13 career starts against New York, Kershaw is 8-1 with a 1.49 ERA. Here are the other pitching probables – L.A. should be favored in all of them. Tuesday: Mets RHP Robert Gsellman (5-4, 5.50 ERA) at Dodgers RHP Brandon McCarthy (5-3, 3.14 ERA); Wednesday: Mets TBA at Dodgers LHP Rich Hill (3-3, 5.14 ERA); Thursday: Mets LHP Steven Matz (1-1, 3.21 ERA) at Dodgers LHP Alex Wood (7-0, 1.90 ERA). Dodgers win three of four in this series.

The Cleveland Indians are favorites in the MLB Lines to win the series against the Baltimore Orioles.

Cleveland Indians At Baltimore Orioles

When: Monday, June 19th. Tuesday, June 20th. Wednesday, June 21st. Thursday, June 22nd. Where: Oriole Park, Baltimore, Maryland MLB Lines: Cleveland at -165 / Baltimore at +140 These were both playoff teams last year; the Tribe figure to get back there. The Indians (36-31) are coming off a four-game sweep of the Twins and have won five straight to move into first place in the AL Central. The Indians played without left fielder Michael Brantley over the four-game series in Minnesota. Brantley was away from the team for the birth of his son but is expected to rejoin Cleveland on Monday. In contrat to the Indians, the Orioles (34-34) have lost 10 of their last 15 games, but have won two straight and three of their last five. Will the Orioles have shortstop J.J. Hardy for this series? He left Sunday’s game against the Cardinals with a bruised right wrist. Hardy was hit by a Lance Lynn offering. Manager Buck Showalter’s response to a question about Hardy was simply, “Not good.” He elaborated that the team did an X-ray of Hardy’s wrist at Camden Yards on Sunday and the result, he said, was that the team “saw something that concerned us.” According to Showalter, the team will follow up with a scan Monday.

So What’s Going to Happen With J.J. Hardy?

Sounds like Hardy is headed to the DL for a while. The Orioles are prepared to learn that Hardy suffered a fractured bone in his wrist, which would force Hardy — the leader of the team’s infield on defense — to be sidelined for a significant amount of time. Hardy, 34, has a deep injury history but over recent years he has learned to play through back and shoulder injuries. This will be the Indians’ only visit to Camden Yards this season. The teams will meet again Sept. 8-10 in Cleveland. Last season, the Orioles won five of the six meetings between the teams. Here are the pitching matchups for this series: RHP Corey Kluber (5-2, 4.15) vs. RHP Dylan Bundy (7-5, 3.29) Monday at 7:05 p.m.; RHP Josh Tomlin (4-8, 5.83) vs. RHP Chris Tillman (1-5, 8.07) Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.; RHP Carlos Carrasco (7-3, 3.21) vs. RHP Kevin Gausman (3-6, 6.06) Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. and RHP Mike Clevinger (2-3, 3.89) vs. LHP Wade Miley (3-4, 4.29) Thursday at 7:05 p.m. ET. The Indians have dropped seven straight in Baltimore but I like them for this series.
