MLB Betting Predictions for the Complete Cubs @ Twins Series

MLB Betting Predictions for the Complete Cubs @ Twins Series

Two of the most interesting teams in MLB will meet up on Friday to begin a three-game weekend series in Minnesota. The Twins host the Chicago Cubs in an interleague series, and both teams are trying to figure out just how good they might be.

Chicago has been a pleasant surprise this season, but they still enter play on Wednesday with an overall record of 17-19. The Cubs have been battling in the NL Central Division, but they just haven’t been able to be consistent.

Minnesota enters play on Wednesday with a record of 19-17, and they might be the team to beat in the AL Central Division. The Twins are another team that hasn’t been able to play consistent baseball, and it’s keeping other teams in the race.

Neither team is a big favorite to win the World Series, but making the playoffs should be the goal for each team.

MLB Chicago at Minnesota Series: Friday, May 12 – Sunday, May 14, 2023

Cubs Must Find Power

The Chicago Cubs have some pretty good numbers overall, but they just haven’t been able to consistently put things together. Chicago has belted just 43 home runs through the first 36 games, and they need to find more in the power department.

Patrick Wisdom is having a nice season for the Cubs, as he has belted 11 home runs to lead the team. Nico Hoerner has led the team with a .303 batting average, but getting clutch hits has been a problem for the team.

The pitching staff has been tremendous to begin the year, but the Cubs won’t have Justin Steele on the mound in this series. Chicago still has a team ERA of 3.40 on the year, and they will look to shut down the Twins in this game.

Pitching Powering Twins

The offensive numbers for the Minnesota Twins are hard to look at, but this team has been getting the job done on the mound. Minnesota has a team ERA of just 3.35 to begin the year, and they will have their ace on the mound in the series opener.

Sonny Gray comes into the start on Friday with a perfect 4-0 record to go along with a sparkling 1.35 ERA. If the Twins are going to win this series against the Cubs, then they will need Gray to set the tone in the series opener.

The Twins are hitting just .219 to begin the series, and that’s not going to get the job done as the season moves along. Byron Buxton is leading the team with eight home runs, but his team-leading .233 batting average shows just how much this team has struggled to hit.

Cubs Must Be More Consistent

The Minnesota Twins are trying to take control of the Central Division, and they have to take care of business at home. Minnesota has been doing a great job on the mound, but this offense has to wake up at some point.

Chicago now has some of their most talented players at the MLB level, and it’s time for those players to deliver. The Cubs have a terrific run differential this season, but they have struggled to hit in the clutch.

You should expect both teams to pick up at least one win in this series, and the other game will come down to which team is able to get some clutch hits.
