MLB Betting Predictions for the Complete Mets @ Braves Series

National League East Division rivals are set to meet up on Tuesday night to begin a three-game series as the New York Mets visit the Atlanta Braves. There is not much love between these two teams, and it should set up for a terrific battle on the field this week.

The New York Mets come into this series reeling a bit, as they were just swept in a three-game series by the Toronto Blue Jays. New York is currently sitting at 30-30 on the season and need to close the gap between themselves and the Braves.

Atlanta comes into this series with an overall record of 35-24, and they have won three of their last four games. The Braves have taken a big lead in the NL East Division, and they are looking like a favorite to win the World Series.

In the series opener, it is the Braves that are the moneyline betting favorites at -170 over the Mets.

MLB New York and Atlanta: Tuesday, June 6 – Thursday, June 8, 2023

Mets Need Some Pitching

If the New York Mets are going to find a way to get back in the division race, then they are going to need some starting pitching. New York comes into this series with a team ERA of 4.49, and some of their best starting pitchers have really been struggling.

Carlos Carrasco will make the start on Tuesday night, and he has gone just 2-2 with a 5.74 ERA this season. New York does have an offense capable of scoring runs, but getting outs is going to be extremely important.

Pete Alonso is having a huge season for the Mets, as he currently leads the team with 21 home runs and 47 RBIs. There are other players that are struggling a bit for New York, and they need to get themselves going.

Braves Pounding the Baseball

The Atlanta Braves are one of the most feared offenses in all of baseball, and they have plenty of players doing damage at the plate. Atlanta currently has a team batting average of .259 on the season, and they have also belted 97 home runs.

Matt Olson has been the best offensive player for the Braves this season, as he leads the team with 17 home runs and 43 RBIs. Ronald Acuna Jr. is back to his old self as well, and he is hitting .331 at the top of the batting order.

Bryce Elder will start in the series opener for the Braves, and he is 3-0 with a 1.92 ERA on the year. Elder is just one of the Braves pitchers that are pitching well, and this team can shut down the Mets.

Braves Will Win Series

Pitching is a major concern for the Mets, and that’s not going to go well in Atlanta when facing a Braves team that can really score. New York does have an offense that can keep pace a bit, but they can’t score at the same level as the Braves.

Atlanta has been terrific all season long, and they are going to be fired up and ready to take on their division rival this week. The New York Mets will likely get one game this weekend in Atlanta, but it will be the Braves that take two out of three games to increase their lead in the NL East Division.
