MLB Betting Predictions for the Complete Rays @ Orioles Series

MLB Betting Predictions for the Complete Rays @ Orioles Series

The AL East Division is one of the best in baseball this season, and the race to the top of the division is expected to be tight throughout the year. Two of the better teams meet up for a series this week as the Tampa Bay Rays visit the Baltimore Orioles.

The Rays come into this series with the best record in baseball as they have gone 28-7 through the first 35 games. Tampa Bay is a much more dominant team at their home ballpark, but they have put together a great record on the road as well.

Baltimore has also gotten off to a great start this season as they are 22-12 on the year. The Orioles have lost two straight games heading into this series, but they have gone 9-4 through their first 13 games at their home ballpark.

Tampa Bay is a betting favorite in the series opener, and that could be the case throughout the week. Check out MLB lines for this weekend’s Rays-Orioles series along with analysis and free picks for all four matchups.

MLB Minnesota at Cleveland Series: Monday, May 8 – Wednesday, May 11, 2023

Rays Rolling on Offense

The Tampa Bay Rays have been putting up ridiculous numbers at the plate this season, and they have shown no signs of slowing down. Tampa Bay is hitting .276 as a team, and they have also belted 71 home runs through the first 35 games.

Randy Arozarena has been having a huge season for the Rays as he leads the team with a .328 batting average to go along with nine home runs. Tampa Bay always seems to get a big hit when needed, and that will be a big key in this game.

The Rays also have a team ERA of 3.01 this season, and they have a pitching staff that can get things done. Tampa Bay will be facing an offense that can score, especially at home.

Baltimore Must Get Outs

The Baltimore Orioles currently have a team ERA of 4.44 this season, and that number will have to get better as the year moves along. Baltimore had a rough week when it comes to pitching, and several of their best pitchers are going to have to pitch better.

Kyle Gibson is set to start the series opener for the Orioles, and he has gone 4-1 to begin the year. Baltimore will have to find a way to get outs late in the game, as that is when the Rays tend to strike.

Ryan Mountcastle is having a nice season for the Orioles as he leads the team with eight home runs. Baltimore is hitting .255 as a team, but they have only hit 41 home runs, which is 30 less than their opponent in this series.

Orioles Can Compete With Rays

No one has been able to slow down the Tampa Bay Rays this season, but the Baltimore Orioles actually have a chance to get that done. Baltimore is going to have to find a way to get better pitching in this series, as the Rays are a team that won’t give up many runs.

Tampa Bay is nearly unbeatable at home, but they can get beat on the road. The Rays are going to cool off at some point, and Baltimore should be able to score some runs and put some pressure on Tampa Bay.

Look for this to be a great series, but it should be one in which the Orioles are able to pick up two wins in three games.
