Top MLB Games for Next Week: Is it Worth Betting On Minnesota vs Chicago Series?

In looking ahead to next week’s Major League Baseball action, we’ve found a couple of series that have caught our betting eye. One of those series is the Chicago White Sox against the Minnesota Twins. The Twins are currently leading the American League Central, while the White Sox are in third place, just six games behind Minnesota.

This is a huge series for both teams. The White Sox have a chance of inching closer to the Twins, while the Twins have a shot at gaining even more distance between themselves and the White Sox. We’ll see which team gains some ground.

Heading into the weekend, neither team has been playing at a great pace. The Twins are 4-6 in their last ten games, while the White Sox are 5-5. Minnesota has been plagued by injuries and inconsistent play, while poor managerial decisions and injuries have hurt the Sox. Minnesota Twins vs Chicago White Sox: Should We Bet on This Series?

While the Twins are in first place, they still haven’t played that well this season. When they acquired Carlos Correa in free agency, many felt they still didn’t have enough to make it to the playoffs. The Twins have proved them wrong this season and look like a playoff contender. Byron Buxton has finally lived up to his potential, and the Twins have gotten some clutch pitching performances.

Speaking of pitching, Minnesota will send Dylan Bundy, Chris Archer, and Joe Ryan to the mound against the Sox. Bundy and Archer have been adequate at best, but Archer has looked better as of late. Ryan has had an excellent start to the season and could be a very good pitcher for the next few years.

The Twins are 20-18 away from home this season, so they’ve been solid on the road.

Chicago White Sox

Between injury issues and poor decisions by Tony LaRussa, the Sox find themselves in an awful place. Numerous starters, including Tim Anderson, Eloy Jimenez, Yoan Moncada, Jose Abreu, and Luis Robert, have missed significant time with injuries. These ailments have been the biggest hindrance to the Sox season.

In this series, Chicago will send Dylan Cease, Lucas Giolito, and Johnny Cueto to the mound. Cueto was recently recalled from the minor leagues but has looked good in his last few starts. Cease has great stuff and has arguably been the best Sox starter this season. Giolito has been good at times but bad at others. All in all, we give the pitching advantage to Chicago.

The Sox haven’t been good at Guaranteed Rate Field this season, as their record is 16-21.

Should We Bet on this Series?

Due to consistency issues with both teams, we don’t believe this series is worth betting on. While the pitching matchups look more favorable to the Sox, we still aren’t sold on them. The Twins are good on the road and the Sox aren’t good at home, but we still don’t think that’s enough to sway us to make a wager on this series. We’d advise finding other games to place wagers on.
