Why Bet On Houston?

Houston remains without one of its starting pitchers in Collin McHugh, who has been shut down for the next six weeks after being diagnosed with a posterior impingement of his right elbow. McHugh had to leave his minor league rehab start on Thursday due to tightness in his elbow and now we know the real issue. He did undergo an MRI that showed his UCL is intact, which is at least a bit of good news. It would be a surprise to see him on a big league mound before June.OF George Springer has played in a Major League-leading 194 straight team games, including all 162 of the Astros games in 2016. That marks the seventh-longest streak in club history and the longest since 2B Jose Altuve played in 202 consecutive games from June 22, 2015-Aug. 7, 2016. Springer has 11 career leadoff home runs, which ranks third in Astros history, trailing only Craig Biggio (53) and Terry Puhl (13). Springer has two leadoff homers this season, hit eight in 2016 and one in 2015.On the mound here is one of the team’s top pitching prospects in Joe Musgrove. He opened his second season in the majors in Houston's rotation. In his first start of the year, Musgrove allowed two runs on five hits over five innings against the Mariners, taking a no-decision.Musgrove, who stands at 6-foot- 5, pitched the final two months of the 2016 season out of the Astros rotation, putting up a 4-4 record and a 4.06 ERA (28ER/62IP) in 11 games (10 starts). Known throughout his minor league career for his control, Musgrove walked 10-or- fewer hitters in each of his six minor league seasons (2011-16) prior to his MLB debut.

Why Bet On Seattle?

If the Mariners miss the playoffs by one game, they can look to Sunday. Seattle surrendered seven runs in the ninth inning to fall by a 10-9 final against the Angels. The Mariners led 9-3 entering the bottom of the ninth inning. Then everything went wrong. Casey Fien started off the disastrous frame by surrendering a solo home run to Albert Pujols, which he then followed up with two walks and a single to load the bases. At that point, closer Edwin Diaz entered the contest. He recorded an RBI ground out and a strikeout to bring the M’s one out away from securing a 9-5 victory. However, Diaz proceeded to surrender a two-run double to Yunel Escobar, a walk to Kole Calhoun and a walk to Mike Trout before Pujols hit a game-tying two-run single. Cliff Pennington finally put Diaz out of his misery by ending the game with a walkoff single.Seattle goes with lefty Ariel Miranda. He pitched in Houston opposite Musgrove on April 6 and took a no-decision in allowing two runs and five hits over five innings. The Astros had Miranda on the ropes when they loaded the bases with no outs in the fifth, sporting a 2-1 lead and bringing the heart of the order to the plate. But Miranda got Jose Altuve to ground into a 5-2- 3 double play, with Kyle Seager firing home to get Norichika Aoki and catcher Carlos Ruiz throwing to first in time to double up Altuve, who slipped coming out of the box. Seattle then intentionally walked Carlos Correa to reload the bases before Carlos Beltran lined out to Robinson Cano at second. The Cuban southpaw gets his second start in place of the injured Drew Smyly. Miranda has a 3.86 ERA in 13 games since being acquired last July 31. The Mariners lead the Majors in double plays turned with 11, ranking ahead of Philadelphia (10), Colorado (9) and Pittsburgh (9).
