Top MLB Games for Next Week: Is it Worth Betting On Braves v Phillies, Yankees v Mets Series?

The second half of the MLB season began Thursday and now it is time for teams to make a move. As we head towards the trade deadline on August 2, teams will be going for broke or looking to add to their minor league systems. There are very important series starting the week with playoff implications becoming more important.

There are two big divisional series that we think you should keep your eye on. Let’s take a look at these two series that may be worth betting on next week so you can plan your bets against their MLB Odds

Next Week’s Major League Baseball Series to Bet or Not to Bet On | July 22nd Edition

Atlanta Braves at Philadelphia Phillies

While they are currently separated by six games, when looking at the stats of the two teams, the Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies are similar teams. The Braves returned to form in June after winning 21 games that month. The Phillies are looking to chase down the Braves in the NL East standings and to better their chances of making the playoffs this year.

The Braves have higher goals of chasing down the New York Mets for first place in the division when they only trail by 2.5 games. Atlanta won three of their last four games heading into the break and that included a series win over the Washington Nationals

The Braves are 56-38 against the money line this season. On the road, they have a record of 25-18 through the first half of the season.

The Phillies only hold a 49-43 record against the money line this year. At home, they hold a record three games above .500 at 24-21.

This is a series we advise to bet on the Braves. They are in a prime position to push closer to the Mets and further away from the Phillies.

New York Yankees vs New York Mets

The subway series continues as the New York Yankees and the New York Mets are set to meet for the first time this season. The first of two games starts on Tuesday night at Citi Field. Both New York teams are leading their respective divisions and hoping to win their own leagues in the regular season.

The Yankees caught the major leagues by storm in the first half of the season with 62 wins. The subway series always brings out fiery emotions between the two sides but the Yankees could really use a road series win. On the road, they are 27-17 on the season.

The Mets are looking to chase down the Los Angeles Dodgers as the best team in the National League. The Mets currently hold a 2.5 game lead over the Braves. The Mets are 28-15 at home this season but you can throw that record away with the Yankees coming downtown.

We like the Yankees in this season because they seem to flourish in the big moments. It was a rough end to the first half after losing a series to the Cincinnati Reds but they managed a series win over the Boston Red Sox to put a cap on the first half.
