Edwin Jackson (2-2, 3.57 ERA) will be taken out of the bullpen and placed in the starting spot for this one. As bad as the Marlins (53-79) have been this season, they could potentially move into third place in the division with a sweep of the Braves. While a 3rd place spot is not particularly exciting in the grand scheme of things, it is a sign that this team has continued to battle when they could easily just have closed up the shop weeks ago. They are just 2-8 in their last 10, but had the Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Nationals on their schedule during that stretch. Both of those teams are in the playoff hunt, so it wasn’t really a huge surprise to see the Marlins get taken down in those series. The Marlins could also get a nice boost this week, as Giancarlo Stanton may be back in the line-up as early as Friday. Adam Conley (2-1, 4.96 ERA) will get the start for Miami on Wednesday.
