Toronto Blue Jays at Boston Red Sox

Betts is also among the AL leaders in RBIs and steals.The Sox start former Cy Young winner Rick Porcello here, but he hasn’t looked good of late. Porcello (6-2, 3.74) took the loss against Tampa Bay on Thursday, giving up six runs (four earned) on eight hits, striking out two and walking two as Boston fell 6-3. After getting off to a good start to the year, Porcello has cooled of late, as he’s now yielded 17 earned runs over his last 20.1 innings. Porcello fanned nine and allowed three hits versus Toronto in April in a no-decision.

Estrada Factor

The Blue Jays’ Marco Estrada (2-5) allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out one over 4.1 innings in a loss to the Angels on Thursday. The Angels got to Estrada in the second, third and fifth innings, knocking the 34-year-old out after 88 pitches. He only managed one strikeout, his lowest tally in a start in nearly three years (June of 2015). Estrada has given up at least four runs in six of his last eight starts, resulting in a 5.40 ERA and 1.44 WHIP for the season. That’s the eighth-worst ERA among qualified starters.Estrada will be going for his first win against the Red Sox this season in his third try. The righty has allowed nine earned runs and 15 hits to Boston over 11 innings in two starts against them this season.

Philadelphia Phillies at Los Angeles Dodgers

It’s possible he’s on a pitch limit at first.“It’s a big lift, you’ve got our ace coming back,” manager Dave Roberts said, “we’ve kind of righted the ship a little bit, trending in the right direction, getting him back every fifth day is obviously to compare it to kind of getting Justin Turner back on the position player front, it is pretty comparable.”The Dodgers have placed two other starting pitchers on the disabled list this month. Hyun-Jin Ryu is not expected to return from his torn groin muscle until after the All-Star break. Rich Hill throws the baseball on a daily basis, but Roberts still believes Hill will miss four weeks because of blisters.

Nola Factor

Nola (6-2, 2.27) gave up one run on one hit and three walks while striking out 10 in 6.2 innings Saturday against the Blue Jays. He did not factor into the decision. Nola wasn’t missing a ton of bats early on, but he now has 39 strikeouts over his last 33 innings (five starts) and has 67 strikeouts in 71.1 innings. Aaron lost his no-hit bid with two outs in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Russell Martin, a hit that tied the game at 1. Nola, who tied a career high with 113 pitches, is now 3-1 in May with a 1.91 ERA, 39 strikeouts and seven walks over 33 innings.
