2022 MLB Straight-Up Week 19 Betting Picks for the Top Games On the Weekend

2022 MLB Straight-Up Week 19 Betting Picks for the Top Games On the Weekend

With just over 40 games left in the regular season, it’s make-or-break time for a lot of teams. We see some teams starting to turn things on right now, while others seem to be heading in the wrong direction. Heading into the weekend, we’ve found a couple of series that we think one of the teams has a clear advantage in. Here are two straight up MLB Betting picks for the weekend ahead in Major League Baseball.

Week 19 Winning SU Picks for the Weekend Action | MLB Betting Predictions

Milwaukee Brewers @ Chicago Cubs

Prior to the trade deadline, the Milwaukee Brewers looked to have the National League Central Division under control, and looked like a sure-fire playoff team. That was before they traded their lights-out closer, Josh Hader, to the San Diego Padres. Since Hader’s departure, the Brewers have struggled closing out games. They’ve fallen into 2nd place in the division and are in danger of not making the playoffs.

The struggling Brewers will head an hour south to Chicago for a weekend series with the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs aren’t exactly setting the world on fire right now, but they have been playing better as of late. Milwaukee will catch Chicago’s three best starting pitchers, Keegan Thompson, Marcus Stroman, and Justin Steele this weekend. The Cubs will see Aaron Ashby, who has been struggling with the deep ball, Freddy Peralta, and Blake Woodruff.

Normally, this should be a series that the Brewers should win, however things are different now. This doesn’t look like the same Brewers team that we saw three weeks ago. They aren’t playing well, and they aren’t catching any breaks. The Cubs are getting production from some of their youngsters, and things seem to be heading in the right direction for the North Siders. We like the Cubs to take two-out-of-three from the Brewers this weekend.

Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Guardians

Don’t look now, but here come the Chicago White Sox. Something has lit a fire under the Sox, as they have come from behind the last two nights to defeat the Houston Astros. The Sox are now within one game of the division lead, and they’ll head to Cleveland to take on the first place Guardians this weekend.

Even though the White Sox are still battling with some injuries, this is now starting to look like the playoff team that many predicted we would see all season. Lance Lynn is back in the rotation, Johnny Cueto has been a huge pickup off the waiver wire, and Dylan Cease is a Cy Young candidate in the American League. These three will take the hill for the Sox this weekend.

As for the Guardians, they have exceeded expectations. Their young pitching staff has performed well, and they’ve had a lot of timely hitting. Triston McKenzie, Shane Bieber, and Aaron Civale will face off against the Sox this weekend.

Even though it has been a rough year for the White Sox, they seem to be putting things together at the right time. We see them coming into Cleveland and winning the series against the Guardians this weekend. They could leave Ohio as the American League Central leaders on Sunday.
