2022 MLB Straight-Up Week 22 Betting Picks for the Top Games On the Weekend

2022 MLB Straight-Up Week 22 Betting Picks for the Top Games On the Weekend

The calendar flips to September this weekend which means we’re down to the final month of baseball before the playoffs. The Astros and Dodgers are really the only teams resting easy in their positions, with the NL East and AL Central shaping up to go down to the wire and the AL East and NL Central far from decided either.

There’s a huge AL East battle when the Yankees take their six-game lead to Tampa Bay while the White Sox can make their move when they host the Twins. Here are some of the best SU wagers for the weekend so you can place your bets against their MLB Odds

Week 22 Winning SU Picks for the Weekend Action | MLB Betting Predictions

Nationals at Mets, Friday 7:10 PM ET

There’s always a chance for a letdown for the Mets coming off consecutive wins over the Dodgers, but New York is 5-2 in their current home stand up against a Washington team that has won two in a row – but against the fellow last-place A’s. Washington pitcher Josiah Gray is reentering the rotation after an 11-day absence as the Nationals try to manage his workload, and the Mets should take this one easily.

Rangers at Red Sox, Friday 7:10 PM ET

Dallas Keuchel continues his topsy-turvy season when he starts for Texas on Friday. The left-hander has pitched for the White Sox and Diamondbacks already this season, and gave up 7 ER in his Tigers debut last Saturday. Boston gets a glorified batting practice.

Mariners at Guardians, Saturday 7:15 PM ET

Cleveland leads the AL West, but Seattle actually has four more wins than them heading into Friday’s series opener. The Mariners took two of three from the Guardians last weekend, including a 4-0 victory in the Robbie Ray vs. Aaron Civale matchup that will be up again on Saturday.

Brewers at Diamondbacks, Saturday 8:10 PM ET

Milwaukee pitcher Corbin Burnes is ready for August to be over after the reigning NL Cy Young winner was 1-2 with a 4.81 ERA last month. It’s possible Burnes is starting to fade after a heavy workload the last couple years, but he should have plenty of run support with Arizona starter Madison Bumgarner having a 9.23 ERA in his last five starts.

Astros at Angels, Sunday 4:07 PM ET

Houston’s offense has to face Shohei Ohtani on Saturday, so they’ll be ready for a bit of reprieve against Tucker Davidson in the season finale. Davidson has a 5.21 ERA in four starts since coming over from the Braves in the Raisel Iglesias trade, but he’s allowed less than two ER in three straight outings. The Astros sent Jose Urquidy to the mound for his first September start after he was 3-1 with a 3.13 ERA in August. You worry about the Astros getting complacent with such a big division lead, but they were still rolling with a 17-11 record last month.

Other series’ to watch this weekend are the Padres at the Dodgers to see if San Diego can avenge a sweep right after the Juan Soto trade and Phillies at Giants as San Francisco comes into the weekend on a seven-game losing streak and Philadelphia is in the second wild-card spot.
