Dana White's Contender Series 37 Betting Analysis

Dana White’s Contender Series 37 Betting Analysis

If you know anything about the UFC, you know that it is an organization that features a revolving door of fighters. A poor run of form can mean the end of the road for a fighter in the UFC, as there are always younger, meaner fighters willing to take over those spots, with many coming in from other organizations, such as Bellator. The UFC is always on the lookout for fresh blood and have competitions where new guys have a shot at winning their way into the big show. The 5th season of Dana White’s Contender Series begins on Tuesday, August 31 and will feature 10 events in total as the UFC boss goes in search of new talent. The whole series will take place at the UFC Apex in Vegas, with 4 fights set for the main card in Week 1. Let’s take a closer look inside those upcoming bouts so you can place your bets against their MMA odds.

MMA Betting Preview for Contender Series 37

AJ Fletcher Vs Leonardo Damiani

It’s the US versus Europe in the opening fight of the night, which is a Welterweight duel between two very good fighters. Fletcher comes into this one definitely feeling good about things, as he is a perfect 8-0 in his pro career, with half of this wins coming inside the distance. Damiani is an impressive 10-2-1 and is unbeaten in his last 6 fights (5-0-1). This is a pretty evenly matched bout that I like to go the distance, with Fletcher getting the win.

Victor Altamirano Vs Carlos Candelario

It’s a very good looking Flyweight bout up next, with just 1 combined loss between these two fighters. Altamirano started his pro career with 6 straight wins and also managed to bounce back from his lone loss by reeling off another 3 straight victories. Candelario, on the other hand, has been perfect as a pro, going 8-0 to this point. Both of these men know how to get the job done, making this one a tough fight to call. I am giving the nod to Altamirano.

Diego Lopes Vs Joanderson Brito

The next fight on the main card is a Featherweight bout that features a pair of fighters on a very good run of form. Lopes comes in at 19-3, but perhaps more importantly, he is on a 7-fight win streak that includes no less than 4 opening round wins. He is going to have his hands full with Brito, though, as this is a fighter on a 9-fight winning streak, with all but 1 coming inside the distance. This looks like a great matchup, but I am taking Lopes to win.

Azamat Murzakanov Vs Matheus Schefel

The main event of the night has the potential to be a bruiser, with a pair of Light Heavyweight fighters stepping into the octagon. Murzakanov is the favorite for this one, which is no real surprise given that he comes in with a perfect 9-0 record, although he is dropping down a division. Schefel has won 4 of his last 5 fights to take his pro record to 14-6, but I think he is up against it here. I like Murzakanov to come away with the KO win.
