  • Where: Winnavegas Casino, Sloan, IA

Helen Peralta 5-3 vs. Eileen Pereira 0-0

Peralta has a significant experience edge. In her last three, Peralta has won twice and lost once. The lone knock is that Helen lost her last fight to Poliana Botelho. But the loss was via unanimous decision.

This is Eileen Pereira’s first professional fight. The likely underdog doesn’t show any amateur bouts. But the fact she’s on the LFA 147 card means someone has taken her seriously. Wait for odds to land before deciding to back Peralta. Who knows? Maybe, oddsmakers have more info on Pereira than we can find.

Ryan Leininger 8-3 vs. Jeremiah Curtright 5-3

Leininger has a great 8-3 record. The 26-year-old often puts together a string of victories after a loss. That’s good news for Ryan’s backers because he lost his last via split-decision to Bahatebole Batebolati.

Jeremiah Curtright is 5-3. The thing to notice about Curtright’s record is that he lost his first 2 professional fights. He then adjusted his game and turned it on big time.

Curtright won 4 straight before losing to Sarek Shields. Jeremiah bounced back with a win over Ryan Charlebois. This should be one of the most competitive bouts on the LFA 147 card.

Haris Talundzic 5-1 vs. Omoyele Gonzalez 3-1

It’s going to be tough to go against either one of these terrific mixed-martial-artists. Haris Talundzic started his professional career winning his first 5 bouts.

Talundzic lost his lost to Chris Brown via unanimous decision at LFA 141 in September. Haris boasts terrific submission skills. He’s won 2 of his 5 fights via submission.

Omoyele Gonzalez’s lone loss happened at Shamrock 331 in September 2021. Since the loss, Omoyele has bounced back with a split-decision win over Bryan McDowell at a Fighting Alliance event.

On paper, this can go either way. Make sure to look deep to find the winner.

Askar Askar 13-3 vs. Ricky Furar 7-2

Askar started his career with 10 straight wins. Since going 10-0, Askar has lost 3 of his last 6. The good news is that he has yet to lose 2 straight. The fact he lost his last bout means Askar might be in line for a win.

Ricky Furar lost his first MMA bout in 2017. Then he won 4 straight. Since falling to Kyle Estrada in 2019, Furar has won 3 straight. Furar hasn’t fought in over a year. So when you handicap this bout, take the layoff into consideration.

Justin Wetzell 7-1 vs. Rafael do Nascimento 7-1

Wetzell and Nascimento have the same record. Justin’s lone loss happened back in 2016 at Caged Aggression 18. Since then, Wetzell has won 6 straight, including beating Askar Askar at LFA 109.

Rafael do Nascimento has won 3 straight. Rafael has the edge in this because he last fought this  June while Wetzell’s last fight was the LFA 109 bout in summer 2021. Justin has shown he can win off a layoff, though. Here’s another fight that’s going to take handicapping skills to find the winner.

Jose Cleiton de Melo Jr. 12-5 vs. Melquizael Costa Da Conceicao 18-5

Melo has won 6-of-7. The lone loss happened in a fight versus Jonathan Guido dos Santos Silveira. Overall, Jose shows 5 wins via knockout or technical knockout and 7 victories via submission.

Conceicao has won 6 via KO / TKO, 6 via decision, and 6 via submission. Like Melo, Conceicao has won 6 of his last 7. Melquizael’s only loss happened in a bout versus Italo Gomes at LFA 132 this past May.

For sure, check available video of both these guys in action before deciding on the winner. That’s how close these two are in terms of talent.
