2022 PFL Playoffs: Lightweights & Light Heavyweights Odds, Fights Analysis and Picks

We are getting set to head into Week 7 of the 2022 PFL season, which means that it’s playoff time. If you have been following along all season and are getting ready for Friday night, you need to be aware of the setup of this one. We start the night out with the prelims, after which we get the main car, which is then followed by a postlim card. With the main card wedged in the middle, you may want to tune in right at 6 PM EST so that you do not miss any of the action. We are getting closer to crowning some champions, with the Lightweights and Light Heavyweights going at it on Friday night as they look to win and move on to the final. There are a total of 4 fights listed under the main card, so let’s take a moment to break them down and make some PFL Betting predictions.

MMA Betting Preview for Professional Fighter’s League Playoffs Round: Lightweights & Light Heavyweights

Rob Wilkinson (-322) Vs Delan Monte (+249)

This is the first Light Heavyweight semi-final of the night, with Wilkinson in as the favorite after an impressive regular season showing. Wilkinson won both of his fights inside the distance and is now on a streak of 4 straight wins, taking his overall record to 15-2. Monte finished 1-1 in the regular season, but he made it into the playoffs with a brilliant opening round win last time out. I think it will be Wilkinson for the KO win in this one.

Olivier Aubin-Mercier (-243) Vs Alex Martinez (+193)

It was a tight battle in the Lightweight regular season, with both of these guys making it through unscathed. Aubin-Mercier had to go the distance in both wins, with one of them coming via split decision. It was the exact same story for Martinez, which should give you an idea of just hoe evenly matched this weight division is. I think it will be Aubin-Mercier who gets the decision and moves on to the final.

Omari Akhmedov (+154) Vs Josh Silveira (-192)

The other Light Heavyweight semi-final is different than expected, with reigning champ Antonio Carlos Jr. forced out of this one. Josh Silveira, who is 9-0 overall and 1-0 in this tournament, will take his place and should prove to be a more than worth fill-in. Akhmedov is 23-7-1 overall and looked good in the regular season, winning both fights inside the distance. This one should be a brawl, and I have Silveira taking it by way of the KO.

Anthony Pettis (+102) Vs Stevie Ray (-125)

Like we mentioned earlier, the Lightweight regular season was a crazy one, with both of these fighters going 1-1 in their 2 fights. Pettis actually lost to Stevie Ray last time out and has now lost 3 of his last 4 fights, which has to be concerning. Ray really needed that win after losing his first fight of the regular season. It’s never easy to beat the same fighter in back-to-back bouts, but I think Ray finds a way to get the job done.
