What better way to get your Saturday started than with the next set of playoff bouts in the Professional Fighters League? This represents Week 8 of the tournament, with the focus turning to the Welterweights and Heavyweights on Saturday afternoon. There is a lot of action taking place in this event, and you need to be aware of how it is laid out. We have prelims on ESPN+, after which the action shifts to ESPN for the main fights. These actually fall in the middle of the overall card, with postlim fights to follow, so be sure to check in on time for the main fights. Carlos Leal (-104) Vs Sabidou Sy (-117)

We are at the semi-final stages in both weight classes, and we get the evening rolling with the Welterweights. You need to go all the way back to 2014 to find the last time that Leal lost a fight, and he has put together 11 straight wins since then. Sy won both of his fights to get to this point, but he needed to go the distance in both. This is a great way to start the night and I have Leal winning by decision.

Denis Goltsov (-333) Vs Matheus Scheffel (+257)

Next up we have the first of two Heavyweight semi-final contests, and this looks to be another good one. Goltsov is in as the favorite after winning both of his regular season bouts. The first was over quickly, but he needed to go the distance to win the 2^nd. Scheffel actually lost his first regular season bout, but he rebounded nicely to win last time out. I think it will be Goltsov who moves on by way of the KO.

Ante Delija (+103) Vs Renan Ferreira (-125)

The 2^nd of the Heavyweight semi-final bouts is up next, and this looks to be another one that is evenly matched, which you would expect at this stage. Delija is 21-5 overall and was perfect in the regular season, winning both of his fights. Ferreira picked up max points with a Round 1 win in his first regular season fight, and he needed all of them after losing in fight #2. Ferreira is in as a slight favorite here, but I like Delija to come away with the win.

Rory MacDonald Vs Dilano Taylor

The final Weltwerweight bout of the night is not what we expected, with Taylor replacing Magomed Umalatov, who is out due to visa issues. MacDonald went 1-1 in the regular season to move on, but he has now lost 3 of his last 4, which has to be more than a little concerning. It was the same story for Taylor, who won his opening fight before losing the last one. I am leaning toward Taylor here, but the late change could make things interesting.
