NASCAR 2021 Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey 200 Betting Analysis & Prediction

Written by on August 4, 2021

We are getting down to the nitty gritty in the NASCAR season, with just 4 Xfinity Series races left before we start the playoffs. It’s probably fair to say that the drivers are happy to see the back of Kyle Busch, who has won 4 of the last 6 races. The battle now is for the playoff spots and trying to get hot as we head into the final weeks of the season. This weekend, NASCAR will be in Watkins Glen, with the Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey 200 serving as the Xfinity Series race. There are some definite favorites to win it all this year, but we have seen how favorites can fall once we get to this stage of the season. Let’s take a look at the current top 4 in the driver standings to get an idea who might win at Watkins Glen so you can bet against the NASCAR Xfinity Series odds.

NASCAR Xfinity Series Betting Preview for Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey 200 at Watkins Glen

Austin Cindric

While Kyle Busch has been tearing it up in the Xfinity Series in recent weeks, Cindric, the defending champion, has been consistently picking up enough points to keep himself atop the driver standings. He did have a win between victories for Busch, as well as landing in the top 10 in the 2 races following his last win. With 4 races to go before the start of the playoffs, it’s tough to imagine anyone other than Cindric sitting on top when the big races start, especially considering how consistent he has been all season long. NASCAR did not land in Watkins Glen in 2020, but when they last visited in 2019, it was Cindric who got the win.

AJ Allmendinger

The Cup Series veteran chose to turn his attention to the Xfinity Series for 2021 and has made the move look like a good one. Allmendinger is 2nd in the driver standings heading into this weekend, but he has cooled off a little of late. Allmendinger has a pair of wins on the season, but he has not come close to the checkered flag of late and had failed to crack the top 10 in each of his last 2 races. He does have a win at Watkins Glen, but that one came in the Cup Series way back in 2014. That said, he was top 10 in his last run there, so definitely worth a look.

Justin Allgaier

Allgaier has 2 wins on the season to this point, but it has been his consistency that has helped keep him in touch with the top of the driver standings. While he has now gone 10 races without a win, Allgaier finished in the top 3 in 6 of those races, so this is a driver who is always near the front when the checkered flag is approaching. He has had a similar run of form at Watkins Glen, running no worse than 4th in each of his last 3 races at that track.

Daniel Hemric

Of the top 5 drivers in the Xfinity Series at this stage of the season, Hemric is the only one who still has yet to record a win. The fact that he has a total of 8 top 5 finishes this season, though, tells you that his first victory may come sooner rather than later. It does seem as though a win this weekend might be a longshot, as he finished outside of the top 10 in his last 3 runs at Watkins Glen.
