NASCAR Alsco Uniforms 500 Odds & Analysis

Written by on May 25, 2020

Slowly but surely, sports are beginning to return to action, although they do look a little different to what we have been used to in the past. The biggest change is that no sport is allowing fans to watch live, although most of us are just happy that we have something other than reruns to watch on TV. NASCAR is one of the first to get back to action in North America, although they have had to move races and locations to ensure that they squeeze in all 36 races that make up a full season. They are also running races in the middle of the week, which is a bit of a strange sight for those of us used to the Sunday races. Monday will see the drivers race at Charlotte for the second straight event in the Alsco Uniforms 500. Let’s take a closer look at the favorites and their NASCAR odds for this upcoming race.

NASCAR Alsco Uniforms 500 Analysis

Kyle Busch

Given his recent record at this track, it is no real surprise that Kyle Busch is in as the favorite for this race. He has frequently landed in the top 5 when racing here, including in each of his last 3 races. He finished 4th in the Coca Cola 600, which was run at Charlotte on Sunday, and has a 3rd and a win in his two runs there prior to that one. Busch is currently 9th in the Cup Series standings and has yet to pick up a win this season, but that might well change on Wednesday night.

Kevin Harvick

Harvick comes into Wednesday’s race as the current leader in the driver standings, but he may not necessarily be the favorite here. He does that 3 career wins at Charlotte, but you need to go all the way back to 2014 to find the last time that he took the checkered flag at that track. Harvick only has 1 win in 7 races this season, but he has been in the top 5 no less than 5 times, so he consistently finds a way to be at or near the front of the pack, which makes him a dangerous proposition.

Brad Keselowski

It would be a mistake to ignore Keselowski coming into this race, especially since he just took the checkered flag at this track over the weekend in the Coca Cola 600. It was his second career win at that track, but we all know how difficult it is to win back to back races in NASCAR. This is particularly true when there are only a few days between races. Worth a look, but I’m not sure he can win in consecutive races at the same rack.

Joey Logano

Sitting in second in the overall driver standings after 7 races, Logano needs to be considered one of the favorites at every single event he races in. That said, it is not particularly easy to make a case for him when he drives at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Logano has 1 career win there, with that one coming back in 2015, while also placing 2nd at this event last season. Still, he is coming off a 13th place finish in the Coca Cola 600 here last weekend. Tough to ignore, but I am passing on him on Wednesday.
