NASCAR 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 250 and Sparks 300 Betting Analysis & Prediction

Written by on September 30, 2021

The NASCAR playoffs are in full swing, and the cuts are coming thick and fast. Every race is a battle for survival, with only the winner guaranteed to move on. This weekend, the action shifts to Talladega, with all three series now in different stages of their playoffs. The Cup Series race goes on Saturday, with our breakdown of that coming in a separate article, while we have a Truck and Xfinity Series doubleheader on Saturday. It all begins at 1 PM EST on Saturday with the truck running of the Chevrolet Silverado 250. The Xfinity Series will start at 4:30 PM EST with the Sparks 300. Let’s take a look at the playoffs in both and who might be ready to win these races so you can get ready to bet against their NASCAR odds.

NASCAR Xfinity Series and Truck Series Betting Events for the Week

Truck Series – Chevrolet Silverado 250

Things can change very quickly in the playoffs, a lesson that Sheldon Creed is learning the hard way. He won 2 races in the Round of 10, but he is now sitting below the final cut line that would put him in the Round of 4. Given his recent success, you certainly wouldn’t count him out at this point.

This is the first of 2 races remaining in the Round of 8, and with Christian Eckes coming up with the surprise win last weekend, that final four is still wide open. John H. Nemechek is at the top of the standings for now and is the favorite to win this weekend at odds of +700. He had a poor run in Las Vegas last weekend, but I expect that to be nothing more than a blip on what has been a great season. He certainly deserves to be the favorite here.

Guys who are out of the payoffs can play the role of spoiler in any given race, just as Eckes did last weekend. The bookies believe that Grant Enfinger (+800) has a shot at doing it this weekend. He has yet to win this season and has a career best 4th at Talladega, so he seems like a longshot to me.

Xfinity Series – Sparks 300

There was a bit of a pattern formed last weekend, with drivers out of the playoffs winning races. We already talked about Christian Eckes winning in the Truck Series, but we also have to comment on Josh Berry winning in the Xfinity Series. With 2 races left in the Round of 12, the battle for points is heating up, with the real pressure on those below the cut line.

When looking at any race this season for the purposes of betting, you need to look at the top 2 drivers, who have 9 wins between them. Austin Cindric is the defending champion, so he knows what it takes to get the job done at this stage of the season. He ran 2nd at Talladega earlier this season, so he needs to be seen as a threat here.

AJ Allmendinger has 4 wins this season and looks set to make a run at the title. He was also strong at Talladega earlier in the year, landing on the podium with a 3rd place finish. It’s all to race for this weekend, so be sure to get in on the action.
