NASCAR Expert Analysis for October 24th & 25th Races

Written by on October 23, 2020

As we head into the final few weeks of the NASCAR season, we have a trio of championships waiting to be decided. We will get into the details of the Cup Series in another piece, but for now, we are going to focus on the Xfinity and Truck Series events coming this weekend. Even with only 3 races left to go, it is still to early in the game to flat out declare a winner. This weekend, NASCAR will be in Texas, with the Xfinity Series up first on Saturday. The O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 will serve as the first race of the weekend, while the trucks will go on Sunday in the SpeedyCash.com 400. Let’s take a closer look inside those races and who might make it into the final 4 in both series so you can cash in against their NASCAR odds.

Truck Series & Xfinity Series Events for the Weekend | NASCAR Betting

Xfinity Series – O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 – Saturday at 4:30 PM EST

Right now, you would have to say that this is Chase Briscoe’s championship to lose. He has a staggering 9 wins on the season, including a playoff win in the first race in the Round of 8 last weekend. That guarantees him a spot in the final four, although given what he has done this season, it would be more surprising if he somehow missed out. Briscoe finished 2nd at Texas earlier this season.

Justin Allgaier is sitting behind Briscoe in 2nd in the driver standings having picked up 3 wins on the season. he has some work to do to catch the leader, but he does tend to run well at this track. For now, it’s just all about staying in the top 4.

Brandon Jones has very quietly moved his way into the top 3 in the driver standings and is on a run that has seen him finish in the top 10 in 5 of his last 6 races.

Rounding out the top 4 is Austin Cindric, who already has 5 wins under his belt this season. despite that great record, he is still flirting with the cut line. Those 5 wins came in a 6-race stretch, including one at Texas.

Truck Series – SpeedyCash.com 400 – Sunday at Noon EST

The trucks will get the day started on Sunday, with one driver having already clinched a spot in the top 4. Brett Moffitt did that last week with his win in Kansas. That was his first win of the season and he could not have picked a better time to get it. He finished 5th in Texas earlier this year.

It is still Sheldon Creed who looks to have the best shot at making the top 4 out of the remaining drivers, although he will be looking to add to his 3 wins this season to ensure himself a spot. He has not had a lot of joy in Texas, though, so he may not be as safe as he appears if he has another poor run.

Austin Hill has a pair of top 3 finishes from his last 3 races, so het is getting valuable points at just the right time. He is another driver that has not been great on the Texas track, though, so there is no guarantee that he will remain in the top 4.

Zane Smith rounds out the current top 4 on the driver standings, and he come into this week with a pair of wins under his belt. He has been outstanding in his first full season in the truck series, but he will know that he has work to do to move on.
