NASCAR 2021 Help A Hero 200 Betting Analysis & Prediction

Written by on September 2, 2021

With the calendar now flipped over into the month of September, NASCAR fans are now well aware that the playoffs are right around the corner. Counting this weekend’s race in Darlington, there are now 3 Xfinity Series races left on the schedule before the cuts begin. By the time those races are over, we will have 12 drivers heading into the playoffs, which will run through to the early part of November. The cuts will come thick and fast once the playoffs begin, so it’s important that the drivers who are guaranteed to get in need to start putting in performances that ensure they go into the postseason on a good run of form. With all of that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the favorites this weekend so you can place your bets against their NASCAR Xfinity Series odds.

Austin Cindric

Cindric came into this season as the defending champion and finds himself on top of the driver standings again at this late stage of the year. There are certainly no arguments about Cindric being the best driver in the Xfinity Series this season, as he leads the way with 5 wins already. Even more impressive is the fact that he has been in the top 5 in 14 of the 23 races run thus far. Cindric is almost certainly the favorite to repeat as champion this season, but he is going to need to hold off some very good drivers to make that happen. It will be interesting to see what he does this weekend at Darlington, as he has not been great at this track, finishing in the top 10 just once in his last 3 races.

AJ Allmendinger

The Xfinity Series is very often where you find younger drivers plying their trade, and while 39 is by no means old, AJ Allmedinger is one of the veterans on this circuit. He has used that experience well this season and is very much in the hunt to win it all. Perhaps most importantly of all, he is heading towards the playoffs in a rich vein of form, having run either 1st or 2nd in 4 straight races. If he can maintain that once the postseason begins, the title is his for the taking. In an earlier run at Darlington this season, Allmendinger finished 13th.

Justin Allgaier

If you were twisting my arm to make a pick to win this coming weekend, I might well be tempted to go with Justin Allgaier. This is another driver with more experience than most and one who has a very good history at Darlington in the Xfinity Series. He ran 3rd there last season and then bettered that by taking the checkered flag at Darlington earlier this season. While he has not been winning much of late, Allgaier has been close several times, taking 5 podiums in the last 10 races. I think he is a very good bet this weekend.

Justin Haley

In his second full season in the Xfinity Series, which came in 2020, Haley proved that he belonged by finishing 3rd overall in the driver standings. It has been a quieter year to this point, but that might be about to change, as Haley is coming into this race off a win at Daytona last weekend. In 3 runs at Darlington, though, he has failed to crack the top 10, so perhaps a longshot here.
