NASCAR Betting Analysis for September 10th & 12th Races

Written by on September 9, 2020

While most eyes are on the Cup Series playoffs, which began last weekend, it is worth remembering that there is more going on in the world of NASCAR. This weekend, we will see the drivers head to Richmond, with a full slate of races set to go. This includes the Xfinity and Truck Series, both of which are edging ever nearer to their playoffs. There are valuable points up for grabs this weekend, so let’s look at the races and the favorites for both series so you can place your bets against their NASCAR odds.

NASCAR Betting for the Weekend (September 10th-12th)

Go Bowling 250 – Xfinity Series – Friday at 7 PM EST & Virginia is for Lovers 250 – Saturday at 2 PM EST

There are 3 more races, including this one, to go in the Xfinity Series before we get to the playoffs. The excitement is heating up, as seen last weekend in Darlington, when Brandon Jones took advantage of a Hamlin/Chastain tangle right at the end of the race to take the checkered flag right. That finish is going to be tough to top, but let’s take a quick look at a couple of the favorites for the Go Bowling 250.

Chase Briscoe – Briscoe has the most wins on the season with 6, but he is still trailing Austin Cindric in the driver standings, albeit by the slimmest of margins. He finished top 5 at Darlington last season and had a win there earlier this year. Briscoe would love to head into the playoffs on top of the standings and a victory this weekend would help the cause.

Austin Cindric – The leader in the driver standings is on a bit of a cold streak and has not won in 4 straight races, although he does have a couple of podium finishes in that stretch. If he wants to hold off Briscoe in these final few races before the playoffs, he needs a better run in this Richmond doubleheader. The bad news is that he has not been great at this track.

Toyota Care 250 – Truck Series – Thursday at 8 PM EST

In order to make way for the Xfinity Series doubleheader, the trucks will be running at Richmond on Thursday night. This is the final race of the regular season, so it’s a huge one for all the drivers involved, with the top 10 set to move on and compete for the championship, starting next weekend. Let’s look at a couple of the favorites.

Sheldon Creed – From out of nowhere, Creed has moved up from the middle of the pack to the top of the driver standings in the Truck Series. He has managed that by picking up 2 wins in his last 4 races, taking him to 3 on the season. He will be looking to bounce back from a poor showing at Darlington last weekend, but tough to know what to expect here, as this will be his first start at Richmond.

Zane Smith – Like Creed, Smith has moved up the rankings thanks to a hot streak that saw him win 2 races in a 3-week span. He has not been close over the last 2 races, though, and with the race at the top so tight, he needs a good run on Thursday night.
