While most NASCAR fans focus on the chase for the cup and the major races, there are other events that fall under the NASCAR banner that are fun to follow and wager on. This includes the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, which will be back in action on Tuesday night at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. This will be just the 3rd race of the season for the truck drivers, so the race to land on top of the standings is still very much wide open. The 3rd race of the season, which is returning after a lengthy layoff due to COVID-19, will be the North Carolina Education Lottery 200. You can catch this race on FS1, starting at 8 PM on Tuesday night, May 26. Let’s now take a look at who some of the favorites might be to take the checkered flag, along with their NASCAR odds.

Ben Rhodes

After two races in the Truck Series, Ben Rhodes finds himself sitting in third at the Truck Series standings with a top 5 and a top 10 finish to his name. It’s a very tight race in the early going, as you would expect, so the standings will change dramatically as the races are run. The benefit that Rhodes has heading into Tuesday night is that he will occupy the pole position. That is certainly not a guarantee that he is going to be able to go out and win the race, but it does put him in the position to once again be among the leaders all the way through to the finish.

Austin Hill

Hill finds himself at the top of the driver standing heading into this one, taking 82 points from the opening two races of the Truck Series season. While not landing the best starting spot available for this race, he is near the top, as he will be starting from the #5 spot. If truth be told, Hill can likely maintain his current top spot by once again landing in the top 5, but he might well be able to do better than that and get the win in this race. If Hill takes the checkered flag, he will be in great shape at the top of the standings.

Grant Enfinger

To this point, we have spoken about a pair of drivers who have yet to win on the season, so perhaps it is time to talk about one who has taken the checkered flag. Enfinger is one such driver, and while he is currently sitting in 7th in the driver standings, eh is currently projected to finish second in the playoff standings once the season comes to an end. I always like to wager on guys who have already won on the season, as they know what it takes to get the job done. Enfinger might well be worth taking a shot on this coming Tuesday.

Johnny Sauter

It is consistency that enables a driver to have a successful season that might well result in a championship. While it is still very early in the year, Sauter has shown consistency from the off, landing in the top 10 in each of his 2 races to this point. Whether he can actually break through and start picking up some wins remains to be seen, but he has certainly started well and should be seen as a potential threat in this race.
