There are a lot of things to consider when wagering on all the NASCAR events between now and the end of the season. One of the most important factors is how the drivers will line up for each race. Instead of qualifying runs, starting positions will be determined via a random draw that is based on the current owner standings. In the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, you also need to pay attention to who is racing, as Cup Series drivers are allowed to run 5 times over the course of the season in these events. Kyle Busch dominates when he runs his #51 in the truck series, so pay attention to whether or not he is in. Busch is scheduled to be in the field this weekend in Atlanta, but we are going to skip him and look at some series regulars who might be in with a shot at taking the checkered flag on Saturday. Let’s take a closer look at some of the favorites for this Vet Tix Camping World 200 race and their NASCAR odds.

Johnny Sauter

When you are among the best in the business and go through a rough season, the goal is to immediately bounce back and get things going early when the new season begins. That is where Johnny Sauter is at coming into 2020, and while we are only 3 races in, there are definite signs that he is ready to bounce back in a big way. Sauter has yet to take a checkered flag this season, but he has landed in the top 10 in each of the 3 races thus far. Those performances have him sitting in 3rd in the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series standings right now. I would take a long hard look at playing Sauter to win on Saturday, as he has had 3 consecutive top 3 finishes in Atlanta.

Brett Moffitt

After 3 races in the 2020 Truck Series season, Moffitt is sitting in 3rd, 22 points off the pace being set at the top. There is a very good reason to believe that he might just break his goose egg at Atlanta, assuming that Kyle Busch does not take over, as he has had some real joy there in the past. Moffitt won the championship in 2018, winning at Atlanta that season. He followed that up with a 4th place run at Atlanta Motor Speedway last season, so he is the driver that I will have my money on this weekend.

Ben Rhodes

There are several things to consider when wagering on any NASCAR race, but it is how a driver has performed at a specific track that needs to be placed very near the top of the list. If you are looking at that particular stat this weekend, then you need to give Ben Rhodes some love. This is a driver who has finished in the top 10 every single time he has raced in Atlanta. That includes 3 consecutive finishes in the top 5 and never finishing worse than 6th.

Matt Crafton

You need to go all the way down to 11th to find Crafton in the current driver standings, but let’s not forget that we are still only 3 races into the current season. The reason why I have Crafton listed among he favorites this weekend is because of his past performances at the Atlanta track. He won there last year and also has two pole position starts in his last 6 appearances there. He also has 3 top 5 finishes there since 2015.
