One of the most heavily scrutinized positions in the NBA is the point guard. While point guards used to be known as being distributors, the game has changed, and now point guards are also looked upon to be scorers as well. The pick and roll game has become such a staple in the league, and a great point guard can be a dangerous weapon in the pick and roll. Let’s take a look and rank the point guards who are playing at the highest level at this point in the season so you can continue making your bets against their NBA odds.

NBA Betting: Updated Players Power Rankings

1. Stephen Curry – Golden State Warriors

While some people may argue that Curry isn’t a point guard, with this Warriors squad, he is the acting point guard. Curry has been on a tear as of late, as he has hit 72 3-pointers in the last ten games. During this stretch, he’s averaging over 30 points per game. Without Curry, the Warriors would be stuck at the bottom of the Western Conference.

2. Luka Doncic – Dallas Mavericks

Doncic is the heart and soul of the Mavericks. He has the ability to take games over. He’s averaging over 28 points, nearly eight assists, and almost nine rebounds per game. Doncic is one of the most electric players in the league.

3. Damian Lillard – Portland Trail Blazers

Lillard has a clutch gene, as he has hit numerous game winners in crucial games. Lillard is one of the top scoring guards in the league, as he’s averaging 28 points per game, along with seven assists and four rebounds. He has led the Blazers to the playoffs numerous times, and he has been nearly unstoppable in many of those playoff games.

4. Chris Paul – Phoenix Suns

While many question Chris Paul’s leadership abilities and his lack of playoff wins, Paul will go down as one of the top point guards in league history. Paul has turned the Phoenix Suns into one of the best teams in the Western Conference and a legitimate NBA title contender. If Paul can ever attain success in the playoffs, he’ll elevate his status even more.

5. Russell Westbrook – Washington Wizards

While many feel that Westbrook is out for himself, you can’t argue against his production. Westbrook is a triple-double machine. Many don’t think that he can lead a team to a championship, but if you put him in the right situation, he could lead a team to a title. Westbrook is averaging nearly 22 points, with 11 rebounds and 11 assists per game. If he could ever get his perimeter shooting figured out, he would be quite the weapon.

6. Trae Young – Atlanta Hawks

Since Lloyd Pierce was fired and Nate McMillan has taken over, Trae Young has thrived. The Hawks have gone 17-6 since the firing of Pierce, and Young has been the focal point of the offense. He’s currently averaging nearly 25 points per game, with nine assists and four boards per contest. When he’s not trying to do too much, Young is a very good player.
