Season Series

This is the last regular-season meeting with Miami up 2-1. The one game in Milwaukee was a Bucks 124-102 easy win on Dec. 4. Pat Connaughton made seven 3-pointers and scored 23 points – he’s currently out injured. The Bucks were without superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo but led by as many as 31 points against a depleted Heat team missing Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo due to injuries. The Bucks scored 26 second-chance points and outscored Miami in the paint, 48-26. Miami is 73-48 all-time in the regular-season series.

Why Bet on Miami?

The Heat clinched the season series with the Chicago Bulls on Monday with a 112-99 victory, a huge win in the race for the best record in the Eastern Conference. Gabe Vincent started for Kyle Lowry (personal) and hit 7-of-13 shots and four 3-pointers for 20 points, two rebounds and three assists. It’s not clear if Lowry will play Wednesday.  When Vincent gets going, he’s getting into the paint, probing the defense, making plays and finding soft spots when he can score. He doesn’t have to provide what Lowry does, he just has to make an impact.

Bam Adebayo had 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two blocks. He enjoyed his best month of the season in February, averaging 22.0 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.5 blocks per contest. Adebayo has currently blocked multiple shots in five-straight games, the longest Heat streak since 2018.

Tyler Herro came off the bench to hit 7-of-13 shots and 5-of-5 free throws for 20 points, six rebounds and five assists in 30 minutes. Herro has now scored at least 20 points in three straight. Herro is averaging an NBA-best 20.2 points off the bench this season. He has scored at least 20 points off the bench 22 times this season and has now totaled 41 as a member of the Heat, the most in team history.

The Heat are holding teams to 104.7 points this season, the fifth-lowest in the NBA, and are 20-1 when holding teams under 100. Miami is 22-1 when shooting at least 40 percent from three-point range and a perfect 15-0 when shooting at least 50 percent from the field.

Miami has currently won a season-long six-straight road games. Duncan Robinson is just one made three-point field goal short from tying Glen Rice (708) for the third-most made in Heat history.

With their 41st win of the season Monday, Miami has now secured their 12th season of at least a .500 record since Erik Spoelstra became head coach 14 years ago in 2008-09. The 12 .500+ seasons over the last 14 years tie for the most in the NBA over that span.

Why Bet on Milwaukee?

The Bucks (36-25) snapped a two-game skid Monday with a 130-106 rout of Charlotte. Milwaukee made its first 26 free throws and finished 32 of 37 from the line. The Bucks outrebounded Charlotte 62-41. The game was tied at 32-all after the first quarter, and Charlotte trailed by nine, 48-39, with just under seven minutes left in the second. The Bucks outscored the Hornets 38-14 over the rest of the quarter and led 76-53 at halftime.

“We were in a little bit of aggressive mindset” in the second quarter, Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said. “I thought Giannis quarterbacked in some of those situations, whether it was against the press or against the zone and found shooters. Sometimes we were able to play fast against the zone before it could get set, get some corner 3s.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo hit 6-of-10 shots and 14-of-14 free throws on his way to 26 points, 16 rebounds, six assists, two steals and four blocks. He came into the night at 72 percent from the free-throw line. He’s 26-of-30 over his last two games, good for 87 percent.

Jrue Holiday hit 7-of-15 shots and five 3-pointers for 21 points, six rebounds and eight assists. IT’s eight straight games in double digits scoring for Holiday. All five Bucks starters hit double figures as Bobby Portis scored 20, Khris Middleton had 19 and Grayson Allen scored 11, while Jevon Carter had 10 off the bench. Carter was just signed off waivers from the Nets.

In his second season with the Bucks, Portis Jr. continues to average career-highs in scoring (15.6 ppg), rebounding (9.2 rpg), 3FGM (2.0), FG% (.485) and 3FG% (.412). He’s one of only two players in the league this season, along with Karl-Anthony Towns, averaging 15+ points, 8+ rebounds and shooting better than 40% from three.

The Bucks are in the midst of six consecutive games at Fiserv Forum. In the Mike Budenholzer era (since 2018), the Bucks have defended their home court better than anyone in the NBA, with a 128-41 regular season and postseason record at home.
