All of the headlines in the NBA right now are about the players who might move at the trade deadline and the teams looking to make a move that will improve their chances of a deep playoff run. While we have seen a couple of transactions go down, the rest of the headlines consist of little more than rumors. Through all of it, there is still basketball to be played and a lot of games to come before we get to the trade deadline and the All-Star break. The results of those games could have an impact on what teams choose to do in terms of moves. We are going to look at the next couple of days to see what games look interesting. We’ll talk about Friday’s games in a separate article, but for this one, let’s turn our attention to Saturday for your NBA betting.

Denver Nuggets at Philadelphia 76ers

You can’t ask for much better than this matchup, with two of the best teams in the league going head-to-head on Saturday afternoon. This will be the first of two meetings, with the Nuggets looking to bounce back after taking a loss last game out. That said, they are still 8-2 in their last 10 and comfortably atop the Western Conference. As for the 76ers, they are trying to catch up to the Boston Celtics in the East, with Philly sitting 3 games back of the pace being set by the conference leaders. The 76ers are hot at the moment and winners of 6 in a row. Their 18-7 home record is going to make this a very tough trip for the Nuggets, who are just 12-11 away from home.

New York Knicks at Brooklyn Nets

What we have here is a rivalry game, with a pair of teams from the Big Apple renewing hostilities. The Nets have been the better of the two teams this season and are sitting in the #4 seed with a 29-18 record. That has them 4 games ahead of the Knicks, who are sitting in the play-in zone at the moment. They are, though, just a game back of the Heat in the #6 spot, but of they want to close that gap, they are going to need to be a whole lot better than they were in their earlier meeting with the Nets this season, losing that one 112-85. The Nets are not playing great at the moment, so the hope is that we will get a closer one this time around.

LA Lakers at Boston Celtics

There may be a bit of a gap between these teams in terms of wins and losses this season, but that all tends to go out the window when these two great rivals hook up. We certainly saw that when they met earlier this season, with the Celtics going into LA and getting a 122-118 win. The Celtics are 8-2 in their last 10 games, but they have also lost 2 in a row and may be just a little vulnerable at the moment. The Lakers are still sitting below the play-in line, but not so far adrift that they can’t get back into the mix. A win against one of their fiercest rivals might just help them get back on a positive run of form.
