Now that the All Star Weekend is over, teams are gearing up for the home stretch of the regular season. Teams are fighting for playoff spots, and there will be a lot of jockeying for playoff positioning. Regular season games won’t be starting up until Thursday of the upcoming week. With just over 20 games left in the regular season, each game holds a lot of importance. We’ve picked out a couple of Thursday games that have caught our betting eye. Let’s briefly analyze these two games and we’ll give you our NBA Betting predictions on those two games.

Boston Celtics @ Brooklyn Nets

These two teams entered the All Star Break heading in different directions. While the Boston Celtics have seemed to have put everything together, the Brooklyn Nets can’t seem to get things figured out. Boston went into the break having won nine of its last 10 games. Brooklyn went into the break losing eight of their last 10.

Brooklyn will have a different look when they start back up. Even though Kevin Durant will still be out, and Kyrie Irving is unable to play at home, it’s rumored that Ben Simmons could make his Nets debut on Thursday. Simmons was acquired from Philadelphia for James Harden. Seth Curry and Andre Drummond will probably play for Brooklyn on Thursday as well. We’ll see if Simmons does make an appearance, or if he still needs more time.

As for the Boston Celtics, Jayson Tatum, Jalen Brown, and company have seemed to have figured things out. Boston struggled early in the season, but they’ve climbed up the standings, and are currently sitting in 6th place in the Eastern Conference, just 2.5 games behind the conference-leading Miami Heat.

With the Nets still in disarray, and the Celtics playing well, we like the Celtics in this one.

Phoenix Suns @ Oklahoma City Thunder

While the Phoenix Suns hold the best record in the NBA and raced into the All Star Break on a seven-game winning streak, they were dealt a huge blow during All Star Weekend. It was announced that Chris Paul will have surgery on his thumb and will miss 6-8 weeks of action. With Phoenix sitting 6.5 games ahead of the Golden State Warriors for first place in the Western Conference, we’ll see how losing Paul affects the Suns.

While OKC is near the bottom of the standings in the West, they have still competed in many games this season. We’ll see if they come back from their week off refreshed. It will be worth watching how different the Suns play without Paul.

While we expect the Suns to be favored in this one, we can’t think that the spread will be as large without Paul. The Suns will have to make some big adjustments without Paul in their lineup. While we like the Phoenix Suns to win this one, we don’t think that it will be a huge blowout like it could have been with Paul in the lineup. Monitor the spread and choose wisely when placing your wager on this one.
