Boise State vs #22 San Diego State Betting Analysis, Yale vs Harvard Preview

The Friday night schedule in college basketball is a little light this week. With many of the top games happening on Saturday, there’s not a lot of action on Friday night. In looking at the slate of games for Friday, February 3rd, we’ve found a couple of games that have caught our attention. We’ll preview each of those games, and then we’ll give you our best College Basketball Betting advice on those games.

Top Two College Basketball Betting Opportunities for Friday Night

Boise State Broncos @ San Diego State Aztecs

The top two teams in the Mountain West will clash on Friday night, as the 22nd-ranked San Diego State Aztecs will host the Boise State Broncos. These two will be fighting for the top spot in the Mountain West Conference. Both are currently sitting at 8-2 in the conference. San Diego State is 17-5 overall, with an 11-1 home record. Boise State is 18-5 overall, but just 4-3 on the road. The Broncos are winners of three straight, while the Aztecs are coming off of a loss.

One thing to watch in this one will be the status of two of Boise State’s top players. In a win over Air Force on Tuesday night, Marcus Shaver, Jr. and Naje Smith both left the game with injuries. Smith injured his knee, while Shaver reaggravated an already tender ankle. It will be worth monitoring prior to the game whether or not one or both of these players will see action.

San Diego State has some payback on their mind. The Aztecs are coming off of a brutal loss at Nevada on Tuesday night. They also lost all three meetings with Boise State last season, including in the Mountain West title game. The Aztecs will have the home crowd behind them, and they’ll want some retribution for last season’s tough showing against Boise State.

The Aztecs tend to live and die by the three-pointer, so Boise State will need to show that they can defend the long-range shots. Both of these teams average 70 points per game, so we should see a lot of points on the scoreboard. San Diego State gives up just over 65 points per game, while Boise State’s defense surrenders 60 points on average per game. This should be an exciting game at a raucous Aztec home court. We like the Aztecs to win. Be sure to monitor the injury situation at Boise State.

Yale Bulldogs @ Harvard Crimson

Two top rivals in the Ivy League will square off on Friday night, as the Yale Bulldogs will travel to meet their arch nemesis, the Harvard Crimson. Tommy Amaker’s Harvard squad is sitting in 5th place in the Ivy League, while Yale is 14-6 overall, and currently in 3rd. A win over Yale would move Harvard into a tie with Yale for third place.

These two last met on January 7th, and Yale was victorious by a score of 58-54. With the home-court advantage, we see Harvard being a 2-4 point favorite in this one. We tend to like the home team in these types of matchups, so we’re going with the Crimson in this one.
