Not much to take from the last matchup between the Browns and Saints as it was in 2014 and New Orleans lost 26-24 on the road in Week 2. The Browns rallied from a 21-7 fourth-quarter deficit to tie Pittsburgh 21-21 and end a 17-game losing streak. It was the first Week 1 game to end in a tie since September 19, 1971, when the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos played to a 10-10 tie. Cleveland rookie cornerback Denzel Ward recorded two interceptions in his NFL debut. Ward, who is 21 years, 134 days old, became the fourth-youngest player in NFL history with at least two interceptions in a single game. Ward became the first rookie to record multiple interceptions in a season-opening game since Indianapolis’ Eugene Daniel on September 2, 1984, against the New York Jets. Tyrod Taylor completed 15-of-40 passes for 197 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Taylor added 77 yards and a touchdown rushing on eight carries to make up for a nondescript passing performance in the heavy rain. Taylor was pressured on 28 of the 53 plays he dropped back to pass against Pittsburgh (including sacks and scrambles). He went 5-for-15 on for 33 yards and a rating of 42.4 with seven sacks when pressured, 10-for-25 for 162 yards and a rating of 59.1 when he wasn’t under duress. Jarvis Landry caught 7-of-15 targets for 106 yards. Josh Gordon caught 1-of-3 passes for 17 yards and a touchdown. Gordon drew the start but was hardly involved in the game plan as four other Cleveland players registered more targets, but Gordon made his opportunity count as he converted his lone reception into a 17-yard touchdown that tied the game with 1:58 left. The Browns are officially listing Gordon as a starter for Week 2. However, the team can’t catch a break when it comes to getting top defensive ends Myles Garrett and Emmanuel Ogbah on the field together. Ogbah sprained an ankle Sunday and will miss time, coach Hue Jackson said. Last season he missed six games with a foot injury. Chris Smith got a lot of the snaps with Ogbah out Sunday.Team Stats

Why Bet on New Orleans?
Not sure what happened to the Saints’ defense in their 48-40 home loss to Tampa Bay in Week 1. Those 88 points were the most scored in a Week 1 game ever. Neither defense showed up on Sunday as the two teams combined for an insane 1,004 yards of total offense. Tampa Bay quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 417 yards and four touchdowns, including a 58-yarder, a 50-yarder, and a 36-yarder. Star cornerback Marshon Lattimore gave up four passes for 115 yards in coverage against Mike Evans. Likewise, fellow starting cornerback Ken Crawley, who also had a breakout 2017 season, got burned by receiver DeSean Jackson on the 36-yard TD and committed a costly pass interference penalty in the fourth quarter. Then again, the Saints allowed more than 1,000 yards of offense during a 0-2 start before ranking second in the NFL in pass defense from Weeks 3-15. On the bright side, Drew Brees passed for three touchdowns against Tampa Bay and has 37 career touchdown passes in season-opening games, the most in NFL history, surpassing the previous record of 34 held by Peyton Manning. Michael Thomas recorded a career-high 16 catches for 180 yards and one touchdown against Tampa Bay.
Thomas capped the second quarter with a six-yard touchdown grab on a play where the Bucs left him completely open. He nearly scored again in the fourth quarter but was stopped just short of the goal line. Thomas’ 16 catches were the most by a player on Kickoff Weekend in NFL history, surpassing the previous record of 15 held by the Chargers’ Keenan Allen (September 13, 2015, against Detroit).
Alvin Kamara rushed eight times for 29 yards and two touchdowns while also nabbing nine catches for 112 yards and another touchdown. He also converted a pair of two-point conversions. Kamara erupted in the first half, dominating the Bucs for 114 yards (29 rushing, 85 receiving) on 10 touches. Kamara was mostly stymied in the second half—he managed just 27 yards on seven touches.
