NFL 2021 Season: Denver Broncos vs Las Vegas Raiders Betting Analysis & Prediction

NFL 2021 Season: Denver Broncos vs Las Vegas Raiders Betting Analysis & Prediction

In a “loser goes home” game on Sunday, the Las Vegas Raiders will host the Denver Broncos at Allegiant Stadium in Sin City. Both teams come into this one with 7-7 records. With so many teams in the hunt for one of the seven playoff spots in the AFC, the loser of this one will put themselves in a hole that may be too deep to get out of.

The Raiders are coming off of a last-second victory at Cleveland on Monday night. Daniel Carlson kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired. Denver squandered a chance at earning a victory over another potential playoff team, as they lost a highly-contested battle with the Cincinnati Bengals. With all that in mind, let’s take a closer look at both teams and how they arrive to this match so you can get all set to place your bets against their NFL odds.

NFL Betting Preview for Denver Broncos at Las Vegas

Denver Broncos Analysis

Denver not only lost the game on Sunday, but they may also have lost their starting quarterback for the season. After a tough hit, Teddy Bridgewater was carted off of the field. He was diagnosed with a concussion, and we’re not sure when Bridgewater will return to the field. In his absence, Drew Lock will take over under center. Lock has a different style than Bridgewater, as he is more of a gunslinger. We’ll see if that changes Denver’s offense or not.

One strength that we should see more of on Sunday will be the Denver running game. Against a particularly weak Raiders run defense, Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams should get plenty of chances to exploit that weakness. Both have run well this season, and a strong running game will help Denver to keep David Carr and the offense off of the field, and limit Lock’s chances at turning the ball over.

Las Vegas Raiders Analysis

Derek Carr and the Raiders just seem to find ways to win big games. After sneaking by Cleveland last week, Carr will need to find a way to win another. In a season full of controversy surrounding Jon Gruden, the Henry Ruggs DUI, and numerous other issues, Carr has held the Raiders together and has them in the thick of the playoff race.

Carr and the offense will be facing one of the league’s top defenses this week. Denver has one of the best secondaries in the league that will make it tough on the passing game. Josh Jacobs will need to have a very good game this week for the Raiders.

Las Vegas has struggled on the defensive side of the ball at times. They struggle to stop the run, and running the ball has been one of Denver’s greatest strengths this season. With a new quarterback at the helm, we’ll see if Denver comes out firing, or if they stick to what has worked best for them this season.

Prediction

The Raiders come into this one as 1.5-point favorites. With Bridgewater out, the Broncos coming off of a tough loss, and the Raiders coming off of a huge victory, it’s easy to see why the Raiders are favored.

We’re going to go against Las Vegas in this one and give the edge to the Denver Broncos. We think their running game will be too much for the Raiders to stop. Denver wins a tight one 24-21 to stay alive in the AFC playoff race.
