Early Betting Predictions For The 2017 NFL Season

Written by on June 7, 2017

The 2017 NFL season may still be months away from getting started, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early for some expert betting predictions that could help you cash in consistently long before the first snap of the season ever takes place.

As a matter of fact, if there’s one thing you should know about making preparations for a new season is that it’s never too early to start formulating your betting plans. With that thought in mind, here are eight early NFL betting predictions that will both, entertain – and enlighten!

Analyzing The Early Betting Predictions For The 2017 NFL Season

Tennessee Titans Win AFC South

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a dozen times this offseason. I like Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans to win the AFC South in 2017 after tying Houston for the division lead in victories last season but getting left out of the postseason because of a tie-breaker.

The Titans may very well have won the division a year ago had Mariota not gone down with a season-ending injury in Week 15. Still, after adding two seriously gifted rookies that will both play right away in wide receiver Corey Davis with the fifth overall pick and cornerback/returner Adoree Jackson with 18th overall pick, I like the Titans to have more offensive balance to go along with their powerful, third-ranked rushing attack from last season. Marcus Mariota has shown marked improvement each year since coming into the league and will led Tennessee to the AFC South division win as a +180 pick behind co-favored (+160) Houston and Indianapolis at the very least in 2017.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Reach the Playoffs

Maybe it’s me, but I say right now, that Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reach the playoffs as a whopping +300 pick after going 9-7 last season to nearly get in. The Bucs added veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson and Alabama tight end O.J. Howard to go along with Pro Bowl wideout Mike Evans. Now, Tampa Bay’s passing attack could be one of the best in the league under the still-blossoming Winston and I believe it will be good enough to help the Bucs reach the playoffs for the first time in ages.

Aaron Rodgers Wins MVP Award

Aaron Rodgers Wins MVP Award

Tom Brady will get a ton of love and so will Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, Russell Wilson and Ben Roethlisberger, but for me, the pick to win the 2017 MVP award is none other than Aaron Rodgers. You see, after struggling early on last season and basically needing to win their final six regular season games to reach the postseason, Rodgers and the Packers took off.

In 2017, I expect the future Hall of Famer to come out of the gate firing on all cylinders as Green Bay lays the smackdown on their lesser opponents while winning a dozen games. Rodgers threw 40 TD passes and just seven interceptions last season and will win this year’s MVP award as the Packers really challenge to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 52.

Eagles Challenge for NFC East Crown

While Dallas won a whopping 13 games last season because of the additions of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott and New York won 11 games because of their lock-down defense, it is the Philadelphia Eagles that have caught my attention as a legitimate challenger to win the NFC East in 2017.

First and foremost, the Birds clearly have a franchise quarterback in second-year signal-caller Carson Wentz that is going to get better the more he plays. I also like Philadelphia head coach Doug Pederson and also believe he’s going to be much better in his second year on the job than he was as a rookie in 2016.

Last but not least, I love Philly’s additions of veteran wide receivers Alshon Jeffrey and Torrey Smith, seeing as how Wentz was basically throwing the ball to four blind guys last season. Don’t laugh, the Birds could surprise as a +300 pick to leap past both, Dallas at +110 and New York at +180.
